This is a war

Post by Theo Chulainn on Sat Mar 17, 2012 8:33 pm

He wasn't sure what possessed him to do this. It was a little mean but he was sure she would give back as good as she got. He was sure as he was signing his own death warrant but she never hate him. Sure they get a little fiery but all it would take would be a chocolatey treat a cuddle him apologising his ass off and a few kisses but she would always forgive him and smile that beautiful smile that made his heart flutter. Oh yes he was certainly a fool wearing a prince's crown.

So now he had spent one whole night of folding little paper cranes all of different colour’s all with a little message in them. But damn he was so sleepy he forgotten half of what he had written. He may of been copying lyrics from his Ipod from some point onwards. Now he was trying to chuck them into her office closet before she realised the call for her to go to reception was a diversion and get out of there before she returned. Finally with a extra shove it was closed and he had fled to a safe hiding point next door in his office. He tried to look natural while he waited. Part of him wondered if she would unwrap some of the cranes or not.

Re: This is a war

Post by Shula Brighton on Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:07 pm

It was strange that Rose, Shula's secretary, had called into the General's office to say there was something at reception she needed to go attend to in person. Usually things being sent to her from the other bases just came straight to her office, or Rose would just sign for them herself if Shula wasn't here. Hm, oh well. Shula needed a break from her desk, anyway. Shula stretched as she trotted down the hall and made her way to the first floor, taking her time to enjoy the impromptu break. Of all the bases, South had always been the prettiest, even before it was destroyed. The main lobby was bright, clean, and decorated with plants just like the rest of the building. Shula leaned onto the desk, happily striking up a conversation with the plump, older receptionist who directed everything from her post. It'd been a while since she'd stopped to say hi to Mrs. Rigby and just chat with her.

Shula had to have been there a good ten minutes before the woman "remembered" what she was meant to give the General, passing a thick folder to her for her to look over. Not uncommon, but why hadn't it just come up to her directly? Oh well. With a small wave Shula walked back to her office, humming lightly as she thumbed through the notes inside. Ugh, this was going to be a long and very boring thing to read.... And caffiene no longer had any power or effect on her. Music. Music was needed. And there was a tiny stereo on the low shelf of her office closet. She plopped the phonebook-like file on her desk with a papery splat and walked over to the closet, humming lightly. She loved her little closet; she had it designed and had all the shelves set in there just to her height, so she could keep things handy without needing a step stool. Most of the things in her office were set to her height, actually.

The cabinet door opened with a tiny squeak, followed by a louder squeak coming from Shula as a colourful avalanche erupted from the door, unleashed as it was opened. What seemed to be thousands of paper cranes, all sizes and different bright colours had all somehow amassed in her closet of all places, multiplied like Tribbles, and exploded on her. Shula stood up, rubbing where she'd landed on her buttlet and shooting a dirty look at Acra as he poked his head around the corner, laughing like a maniac. "BRAT!" Shula mock-yelled at him, laughing and throwing a crane his way. It was on.

------------------*

She'd spent most of yesterday and last night thinking of a good come-back, and this one was perfect. Shula always arrived early and liked having the quiet time to herself. Peeeerrrrrrfect. Acra's office was defenseless and at her mercy, and this coffee pot didn't talk like the one at his flat did. Opening the basket, she saw where Acra had already set up the 5 scoops of dark, robust powder, ready to start brewing ten minutes before he'd get to the office, like he did daily. Patterns were so nice. Five scoops of dark roast coffee, and three scoops of a little surprise....

Acra might very well kill her for this, tampering with his one true love. But the three scoops of salt mixed into the grounds would get such a face! And he wouldn't kill her... He was second in command. Killing her meant he'd have to do all the work she did, plus his own. Bad call. Shu gave it a last, quick stir to mix it all in well and put the basket back, skipping off to her office to go water her plants and greet them all good morning.

The squeak must of echoed through south head quarters. He poked his head round laughing She screeched at him and tossed a crane which he caught laughing softly as she pouted but grinned back. This was just like the old days and he couldn't be more happier. After all there heavy trouble the past week or so it was nice to just let it lift. He kissed the crane softly and flicked it back to her before leaving the room.

~~~
Early morning was always the worse. But at least his insomnia was slowly clearing up. Including the wound on his arm. Slowly healing over he had to thank Shula for her advice of using manuka honey to help it heal over and clear up that horrible infection. As he walked in he was greeted by the usual crowd and went through his usual routine. Coffee then discuss any work with Shula.
Taking his usual mug he poured his coffee from the boiled pot added milk and sugar before walking up to the girls office. Knocking twice before entering. "Hey Love what is on the agenda today?" He asked leaning on her desk as he played with the rim of his mug. "Also wondered if your stopping tonight. I taught I'd make us steak and chips if you are." He put emphasis on the fact he would cook. Made it seem more special when he could treat her to something lovely like a meal. Sure it wouldn't be grand like her cooking but it was the love that counted and slightly burnt the chip's.
Waiting for her answer he lifted the mug to his lips and gulped letting the hot liquid spill over his tongue and perk his attention until....
"BEEERRRLLLLEERRGGGG!!" He spat it straight back out into her bin with a look of pure disgust. Had the coffee gone out of date? He had only brought the bag last week and the milk was fresh yesterday and smelt fine this morning? Why was it so salty....wait...was Shula's shoulder's shaking and her lip's curling.... Oh that little devil....
Taking a swig, he grabbed her shoulder's and kissed her making sure she got a good mouthful of the salty brew. He would defiantly get her back later.
~~~

He had taken a lunch time trip to the joke shop. He had sneaked back in and unwrapped the little prize he had purchased. One exploding ink pen. Sneaking into her office he removed any pen, pencil or even crayon if he found one till the only pen Shula would have would be the pen that would explode ink in her face. He chuckled darkly and left. No one messes with his coffee and got away with it.
