Never Wanted To Dance

Post by Guest on Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:39 pm

The night seemed calm and still to most in the city of Philly, the darkness had fallen, and most establishments had closed for the time being. One place was still booming with energy, however. This club was one known for it's amazing raves, the music and the dance floor never disappointing, still it didn't have the most clever of names. Most called it 'The X' because of the huge neon X fashioned above the entrance. Outside music could be heard blasting from within, and still many were lining up outside, waiting for their chance to enter. One man didn't need to wait, however.

"There's a line sir." The bouncer said, looking up from his clipboard for a moment. He then looked back down, thinking nothing of the white haired man.

"Yeah, there is, maybe you should do something about that." Randolph replied tipping the clipboard down with his index finger and scanning the list. Before the man could speak up again, the chimera pulled at the ID around his neck. "You see this? VIP, Dresden certified, heheheh..."

Unsnapping the velvet rope, the burly man looked as if he'd rightly shit his trousers as Randolph pushed his way past. Before he could make his way through the door though, he turned for one last thing. His smile grew, revealing all of his teeth, before he finally spoke.

"Yeah, and let the next five people on through, big guy."

Once inside, Randolph could feel his pores soaking in the action ahead of him. It was euphoric, in all honesty. Not long after his little meet up with Victor, Randolph had discovered a new ability. He was now able to sense the movement of any creature within two hundred feet of himself. Doing a bit of research on this, he further discovered that it was because of his shark DNA. Randolph himself had no control over this, however, which took some time to get used to, but soon enough he had found a way to make personal gain of it. Which, of course, was why he chose to go to The X tonight.

Stepping up to the bar, he gave a sly look to the waitress and she made her way over. Ordering a drink, he showed her the fake ID Victor had made for him. For all she knew his name was 'Wynter Avalon', 24 years old, Cretan through and through. Sliding her the money, he chuckled and sipped at his liquor, eyes moving to the dance floor. Just watching the people move excited him, adrenaline coursing through him rapidly.

"Now... to find a partner..."

Click click. Her shoes hit the pavement out of sync with that of her friend. Giggles as she went on about how great this place would be. The food is amazing! Their drinks are good too! Iris doubted it, but that didn't didn't mean she'd not go. No, she'd flatter her Cretan friend and go around town to a club. Despite feeling out of place, she held a confident stride. It wouldn't get to her. She was just a visitor in this land and most people knew it. After all, not many people with pink hair and pink eyes were around. Even as she looked around, she realized how odd indeed she had it, but it wasn't exactly a BAD thing. It just made her stand out...Like a sore thumb. The comparison, she wondered if someone would laugh at it.

"Iris! Stop day-dreaming!" A voice shouted at her and the pink-haired Amestrian looked over with a head tilt. Daydreaming? She hadn't even started. Not yet! Nevertheless, she managed a goofy smile to her friend's Cretan words. A soft laugh befell her soft pink curves of lips. So much pink, she couldn't even help most of it. Well, she COULD dye her hair, but that was kind of painful she heard. Oh well, pink-woman looked around, absorbing the sights and buildings. She closed her eyes and opened them to only see more and a line that took and hour to get through.

Taking this time to ACTUALLY daydream, Iris simply scanned the crowd. Mentally she started rating the men she saw, though she didn't intend to. Her eyes rolled up and down bodies and responded with a slight grimace or a nod. She was THAT bored. When that was done, she pulled out her sketchbook and started doodling the number 8 about twenty times. At last they reached the front and Iris had to flash her own ID. Though she did so quick enough the Bouncer didn't notice that she was technically underage. He was more focused on her friend's shorter and more childish demeanor. With a grunt and grumble, he let them in and Iris' Cretan friend squealed in delight.

The woman ran forward, followed by Iris who casually walked while stuffing her notebook back into her bag. The pink eyes skimmed the face as the scent of sweat and alcohol hit her hard. Was that a hint of chicken? Her stomach growled in response, and slowly she made her way to the bar. Chicken wings..? Well damn, not what she wanted exactly. The rest of the menu was strictly alcohol or something else lazy to make. Looked like chicken wings it was. The man looked at her oddly as she ordered, as if she was the only person to order food all day. Well.. one should really not eat at a bar/dance club, but what did SHE care? Iris wasn't a dancer. And in public? Not a chance in hell.

Her friend was jumping partner to partner, while Iris started nibbling on the food they had provided her. After it had all been gone, she sat, licking the flavor from her fingers. One leg crossed over the other and she rested her chin in her palm. There was no way to draw now and yet, she couldn't bring herself to dance. Instead, she sat and stared at her friend, wondering where she got the confidence to do such a... exciting thing. Maybe she could get lessons?

Randolph had been scanning the dance floor for a while, and nobody seemed to meet his needs. Too energetic and spastic, too slow and calm, too... well, let's just say he was picky. The people he noticed walking in didn't quite meet his needs either. It was nice, getting a few drinks and soaking in the movement around him, but he had really hoped a suitable partner would pass through his line of vision, as blurred as it was now.

Ordering another drink, he then looked back to the entrance. That's when he saw her. Pink hair, pink eyes, not too anything, and not lacking enough to be considered bad in his mind. It was as if his night had taken a change for the better. The chimera sat there watching the girl for a good while, waiting for his chance to speak to her. She was eating at the time, so he'd allow her an uninterrupted meal, just as he enjoyed having.

A short time after she finished, he pushed himself from his seat, tipped his hat a bit, and casually strode over to her. Taking the seat next to her's, he looked over. He may have seemed a bit too confident, but he wasn't exactly sure how the whole 'will you dance with me' scenario played out. He was so used to being asked himself at Victor's club.

"Umm... Hey." Really smooth. "I was wondering if you'd like to dance?"

Iris simply swayed slowly to music, enjoying the sense of rhythm, though her ears were suffering. The constant pounding on her eardrums was incredibly insufferable. She would suffer though, just to make her friend happy. Ehhh... going out of her way again. At least it was relatively fun there, tonight. The dancing bodies, though involving moves that Iris, herself would never involve herself with personally, were exciting the air. Her hands rested beneath her chin and she soaked it all in. Pulsing blood, blazing adrenaline and soaking sweat, not something she would indulge in other than request. She had to admit though. The idea of dancing in close range with cute boy was exciting. Then again, most 'cute boys' were taken for dancing. None of them fit her criteria anyways. All looked too simple for her tastes. Just as she shot down another thought for possible dancing partner. All hope for humanity was lost!

Well- Not really. Her pink eyes fell to the basket of bones before it was stolen away. She was left nursing a drink with a laziness that prevented her from having fun for the night. Hair light, it fell in her face with her each movement. It was so irritating! A sigh and the bangs moved out of the way. A second passed and the bangs fell in her face once more. Pout and she groaned. Maybe she should- fix this problem? Braiding her hair to the side, it helped some, but not much. The bangs were too short to remain and the rest sat almost awkwardly on her shoulder. Less than pretty today. It happened, everyone had their days and today must have been one of them.

A boy had approached, once she finished. Social awkwardness aside he spoke, "Umm... Hey. I was wondering if you'd like to dance?" EEehhhhhhhh... Should she try dancing? Iris wasn't exactly the most tactical dancer. There were some days she could swear she had two left feet and further days that seemed to enforce that theory, It wasn't like she'd had any drinks, so the drunkenness she was feeling was that of other people. It took her a moment to think it over. Sit and stare at others all day orrr... get off her ass and get some much-needed exercise. Her friend threatened with her eyes... Iris felt ten inches tall. Alright, dancing it was.

With a bit of a hop, the five-foot-five girl, slid from the stool she was on and smiled at the man. "I don't see why not." Well that was almost a kind way of saying 'I have nothing better to do'. She grimaced at herself. That was rude! Oh well, she could have been meaner. 'Go fuck yourself' wold have been one way, but she didn't fancy the idea. Her eyes were cast upon her bag, that her friend swooped in swiftly and stole away. Well damn, it was as if she were CONSPIRING to make Iris have fun... that fiend. The boy looked different, that was sure, but she didn't complain. "My name is Iris." She decided, explaining rather quickly, to get it out of the way. She preferred it to being called 'Hey!'. So far, so good!
