DESCRIPTION:
→ He has a pretty average body, he’s not overly muscular but he isn’t fat. His hair is wavy, blonde, and could also be considered long to most people. It comes down just below his jaw, but he has no intentions of cutting it all off. He also has one piece of hair that never lies flat with the rest, but he chooses not to try to get it to stay down as it somehow “defines him” in a way, by his own words. His purple eyes are bright and almost always sparkling with mischief. Alder often wears a tan coat over everything else, complete with a furry hood. He wears aviator goggles atop his head and almost never takes them off as his head is generally in the clouds, most of the time this is to be taken literally. When happy, which is the majority of the time, he walks with a quick bounce in his step. His voice isn’t exactly soft, nor is it loud and obnoxious. Okay, maybe is loud and obnoxious. He speaks quite often, always ready to add his opinion or comment to just about any conversation. It’s not that he doesn’t have consideration for others, because he does, it’s just that he tends to get overly excitable at times. He also wears a chain necklace with a snake on it under his shirt, though not many people ever get to see it.



PERSONALITY:
→ Alder certainly is an odd child. He doesn’t have much of a mind and his sense of danger is quite lacking. He enjoys just about everything and anything and will stop at absolutely nothing if it means he can have a good time. Majority of the time, he’s happy and cheerful, walking along with a bounce in his step and a grin on his face. As already stated, he really enjoys getting himself into dangerous situations. Somehow, he always finds his way out of the trouble he’s gotten himself into. He is a bit on the crazy side, (No, he’s a LOT on the crazy side) he’ll run up to random strangers and hug them, his reasoning being that they looks friendly or smelled good. He’ll then run off with a disparaging remark to the person, often for his own amusement, though he’ll usually meet up with said person later and offer them a drink at a local bar; at which time he’ll often ask them to pay.
However, when Alder enters the cockpit of his plane, all foolishness abandons him and is replaced with complete seriousness…Okay; maybe not COMPLETE seriousness, but pretty close to it. The twinkle of amusement in his eyes turns to a twinkle of determination and the wide smirk on his lips turns into a thin line of fortitude. His airplane is practically his life, and all seriousness in his life revolves around his plane and the sky. His amusement and cockiness may leave him when he enters the plane, but it accelerates with the plane as he travels down the runway. He can be quite serious in the plane, though he generally doesn’t actually follow squadron directions; often flying off on his own after enemies because he feels he can take them on his own. He tends to believe he does good jobs on the missions, even if he disobeys orders, because he always accomplishes the goal set at the beginning, but this doesn’t always keep him from getting in trouble for not following orders.

→ Waking up early, thunder storms (only when he has to fly), having to stay quiet, taking written tests, having nothing to do, being hungry, tight spaces, dark spaces, underground areas

HISTORY:
→ Alder was born in August of ‘85 in Conquette. His birth given name was Alder Finch, but when his teachers or friends would ask him what his name was, he would always smile brightly and exclaim “Adder!” this was because at a young age he found it hard to pronounce his own name.
As Alder grew older, his parents began to notice that Alder had a very particular interest in airplanes and the sky. He would often stare up at the sky or lie on his back and imagine shapes in the clouds. When he was 5 years old, his father had taken him to the market and Alder begged and begged for his father to buy him a toy airplane he saw in a shop window. His father, hoping his son would be a pilot like himself, bought Alder the toy. Alder, to this day, still has that plane in his room.
Alder was very interested in aviation, even at a young age. For his 7th birthday, Alder’s father took him up in his plane. At that age, Alder was easily fascinated with everything. He would constantly ask his father questions relating to the sky and airplanes. What does this do? What causes the airplane to fly? How does strong wind affect the plane? What do you do if you’re stalling?
Alder’s father taught him everything he could, and Alder listened to every word he said, later writing down his father’s teachings in a leather journal; which Alder still keeps in the cockpit of his plane. Alder’s mother, on the other hand, wanted him to learn to do more simple, less dangerous, things; such as learning to play the piano or going to school to be a doctor or a lawyer. This isn’t to say that Alder didn’t love his mother or vice-versa, but he grew to be much closer to his father.
When Alder was 16 his father took him up in his plane and let him fly it on his own. Alder did as any teenager behind the wheel for the first time would do, he panicked. Alder’s father was right beside him though and helped Alder. Soon, Alder was flying quite well and would often sneak out at night and fly along for the fun; though his father really couldn’t pretend he didn’t hear him.
Later that year, Alder’s father gave him a chain necklace with a little metal snake on it, making it look as if the snake were biting the necklace and holding on by its jaw. His father smiled and told Alder it was because he would always be his feisty little Adder.
When he turned 18, Alder was given his father’s plane and painted a black snake on the tail fin, under which he painted “Adder”. His father had only called him that because he found it to be a cute nickname for his son, but Alder later took the name to a more literally meaning. He would speedily twist through the air like a snake and strike the enemy quickly; then circle around so they would be unprepared for the attack and late to retaliate.

Alder then decided to join the military. Being afraid of going underground, Alder decided that life in the air was much more suited for him. That and he was already a relatively good pilot so he joined the air force. Being a fighter pilot was exactly what Alder was made to do. Who knew someone could work doing the exact thing that they loved to do? Alder sure didn’t, but he was thrilled when he found out he could.


Even though he’s been in the military for quite a few years now, Alder still wears the necklace his father gave him. Though he wears it under his shirt, he does this so it’ll be closer to his heart, not to hide it. Even today, he’s often seen with a leather journal in his hand, smiling nostalgically at the yellowed pages with everything his father ever told him scrawled out on the pages.
