NAME:
→ Tailoring

TYPE:
→ Alchemy: Basic

LEVEL:
→ One

FORM:
→ Ayako can draw her transmutation circle onto any fabric, but she most commonly draws it onto multiple patches of fabric that she uses in her tailoring.

...........................................................................

BRIEFING:
→ The transmutation circle that Ayako invented basically acts like a rolling pin on fabric. When Ayako presses the circle and pushes hard, the circle acts to distribute the force of her push in any direction she wishes for it to go, either on the particular fabric the circle is painted on or a bit of fabric underneath the circle. This pushing can range from moving the fabric item as a whole on a large scale, or simply to individual threads. While it doesn't really have an opposing element per say, it absolutely cannot work on non-fabric materials, even if she's using a fabric patch as a conduit; if the circle is painted on a patch of fabric and Ayako uses it on a sheet of metal, the metal will not move.

The circle is a simple one; three circles of varying sizes, the smallest two inside the largest. The circular shapes are what allow Ayako to control the motion of her push, as circles have a rounded edge that allows them to distribute the force in different directions equally.

The most practical and common use for this circle to Ayako is to create and repair clothes. She has a huge stack of patches of varying colours and sizes that she'll use. If she's creating clothes, she will push the patch onto a sheet of fabric and it will feed the threads into the fabric below, allowing the threads to manipulate this fabric. If she is repairing clothes, she will place a patch over a rip in a dress or whatever she's repairing, and once again the individual threads of the patch will bind into the clothes. However, she can only whatever she has the circle on once, as she's drastically changing the structure of the fabric. If she takes her hand off the fabric she's controlling, even for a second, it is set in place and she will need another patch if she wants to control it. She can either do this on a small or large scale, but the larger the item that needs moving or repairing, the larger the patch that Ayako will need, and thus the longer the task takes. Repairing a small rip in some clothes with a 2 inch by 2 inch square patch would take about six seconds, but moving a boat sail with a bed sheet could take hours.

When as her alter-ego, The Kunoichi Cloth, Ayako rarely uses this alchemy, as its combat potential is very little. However, she still carries patches of fabric with the circle painted on anyway, and can use them to manipulate other people's clothes to make them far more restrictive, such as tightening them or tying the sleeves together, but the times this comes in handy is rare. She might also make traps with fabrics, such as pushing onto a patch that's linked to a rope on the other side of the room to make it tie itself around someone's legs, but this needs to be pre-prepared.

While Ayako CAN do her alchemy on the fly, it's not necessarily going to work as she intended, as she needs to know just how much of the fabric she can control with the patch she's using. This means that she'd have to know what the fabric actually is (whether its wool, kevlar or hessian for example), how heavy it is and how big the fabric actually is. If she uses a patch too small for the job, she risks wasting a patch not doing anything to the fabric, while patches too big risk ruining the fabric.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:

→ Ayako can take a patch of fabric with the circle painted onto it and put it onto the piece of fabric she wishes to control. She will then put her hands over the patch and push onto it, with two hands and a lot of force for the best results. The patch will then seep into the fabric in individual threads and begin to manipulate the fabric's shape and position, using the force of Ayako's pushing to pull and push the fabric to her will. If used once, the patch is pretty much gone forever and Ayako will have to use a new one.

I've never seen anything like this before, but I am much intrigued. This'll be fun.
