DESCRIPTION:
→ The first thing people may notice of Zayne are his striking green eyes. They shine a bright emerald color, but generally hold no excitement. Unless of course if he's riding his horse, upon which circumstance his eyes come alive with freedom and joy. His hair is another noticeable trait, being the stunning red color of a true Creig. Generally he keeps his hair in a spikey, slick backed style. When he's not wearing his coat he can be seen wearing a simple, yet nice, button up shirt with dress pants. Usually he is seen sporting a black coat over his clothing. Said coat hangs all the way down to below his knees but hugs his arms nicely. Zayne walks with a step of grace, calmly striding about without very much care as to where he may be traveling. His voice is neither deep nor soft, a place in between, though it isn't often that it's heard.

PERSONALITY:
→ Zayne doesn't have a very "interesting" personality, but it's a personality nonetheless. He doesn't much care for the exciting things in life. He prefers to just sit in the shade and read a good book. Of course, he does have fun just like the next fool but his form of fun is generally less exaggerated than normal people's "fun". This would include horseback riding or a bike ride around the neighborhood. Above all he enjoys a relaxing, if not boring, life. In his opinion, cuddling into a blanket by the fireplace on a cold winter night with a good book certainly trumps the beach on a hot day. Of course, Zayne isn't lazy either. He takes pleasure in tranquility and quiet surroundings, but he also makes sure to get exercise on a regular basis. He generally achieves this at the neighborhood stable jumping with his mare.

Zayne can have fun too though! Like the classical stereotypical Creig, Name enjoys a good pint or twelve of good alcohol. That's where the personality takes a fun twist. A glass or two in, and Name begins to smile a bit more and talk more personally with people than he normally would. Get him into five or six and he'll be your best friend and blabber on. A few more than seven drinks and Zayne will most likely end up singing/dancing or passing out. Most likely the latter. Given these actions attributed to alcohol, Zayne tries not to indulge in alcohol too often as it often ends in embarrassing tales the next morning.

Zayne appears to be somewhat distant to most people. He doesn't speak very much and will rarely ever engage in conversation unless someone first speaks to him, and even then he acts somewhat reluctant. His friends often see him with a soft smile on and can coax words from him and even carry on nice long conversations with him. People have to be pretty close to Zayne before he'll open up to them. This can be achieved by simply taking the time to talk to Zayne. Even if he probably won't respond very much, he'll listen and his icy shell will gradually begin to melt around said person.

LOVE:
→ Quietness, light breezes, the chirping of birds, reading, riding his horse, walking, drinking tea, lounging by the fireplace

HATE:
→ loud noises, bright days, strong winds, storms, obnoxious people, carbonated drinks, having to rush, having to talk to strangers, people talking excessively

DEEPEST SECRET:
→ He sees his color blindness as a severe weakness, though he acts as if it doesn't bother him.

HISTORY:
→ It was 1994. The sun was shining, the sky clear, everything was peaceful. Well...almost everything. A pregnant lady was going into labor but that's unimportant, right? Oh wait, that's necessary for this tale. Right, so along came baby Zayne. Zayne's father was concerned though, as he himself was color blind. Being genetic, the baby boy was bound to have it as well.

Zayne showed signs of being color blind at a young age. He would cringe in the sunlight and squint in bright areas. When he joined pre-K he found it hard to keep up with the other students during sections of colors. It was then that Zayne's parent's knew that their son was also color blind. They believed at first that it was only a partial blindness, but were later proven wrong. Zayne was fully color blind; only being able to see things in black, white, and shades of grey.

As a young child he found it nearly impossible to go outside, as the sunlight was painful. His parents encouraged him to get outside more towards twilight hours, to get his eyes somewhat used to the light. At nine years old, he could go out on cloudy days with slight discomfort and would go out on sunny days with reluctance. By the time he was twelve, Zayne felt only mild discomfort when going outside on sunny days. He still finds bright lights to be painful, so he wears sunglasses if he goes out - though this somewhat hinders his already somewhat poor vision.

Zayne found school to be hard, as teachers sometimes made the class do color based activities. Because of this, some of the kids made fun of Zayne. Being a sensitive child, Zayne was upset by such insults. Other people in the class would try to be his friend, but he would go into sort of a mental shell and would shoo them away. Zayne's parents rationalized that a hobby would do their son good, as he could better open up to people that way. The suggestion to visit the local horse farm was of no interest to Zayne at first, but he humored his parents and went with them anyway. When he got there he was greeted by friendly people and curious velvet noses. A large concern for Zayne at the time was how he would ride, as the bright outdoors would render him almost completely blind. This wasn't a problem though, the stable had already taken weather into consideration and had built an indoor arena. The lighting inside was significantly lower than outside, making it easy for Zayne to see.

After taking him to the stable once, Zayne's parents hardly saw their son anymore as he was always there helping out in one way or another. His parents, to encourage Zayne, bought him a mare for his thirteenth birthday. Zayne was told she was a blue roan, though he didn't know what that meant in terms of colors. He and his new horse took a rough start, but it wasn't long before the two became inseparable.

At seventeen, Zayne felt a growing urge to prove himself. What better way to do that than join the military? He enlisted in 2013, at the age of 18. It wasn't about personal luxuries anymore, it was about proving to himself that he could do what everyone else could. He was never going to let his sight handicap him. Never again would he let peoe make excuses for him. He was ready to step up to the plate, to prove his worth.

Despite this though, Zayne still acts very reserved towards strangers. This may be considered misdirected hate because of the judging he dealt with a child. He's calmed a considerable amount, though he still doesn't talk to others very much. Instead, he lives a casual life. He still has the desire to prove himself, though not as strongly motivating as when he first joined the military. It was there that he realized that such things didn't matter. The book closes here, with Zayne joining the military and living a somewhat boring life. Hopefully the next chapter will be a bit more interesting.
