It had been weeks since Vanity had shown herself around the streets of central. The beautiful homunculus had been away, allowing time to forget the past. Of course, her conceited eyes were still looking towards the next quickest way to fame and fortune. Her blonde locks were curled, bouncing heavily on her shoulders as she walks elegantly down the nicely paved sidewalks of central. She wore a cream colored simple dress, barely exposing her chest and lavender heels to make her attire pop for those around.

The sun was setting after a long day of exhausting the people of Central with it's beating rays of light. Restaurants were preparing for the rush of people flocking for Saturday night dinner, after all, who doesn't like to eat out on a Saturday? As she continues walking, she turns the corner and spots -him-. He always showed up at the least convenient times a girl could imagine. With a light sigh of annoyance, she walks over towards the mysterious man.

"What is it this time..." The homunculus gazes up into his crimson eyes, desperately searching for some familiarity.

"Just do as you're told, you know the deal." His stern voice demands while he hands her an envelop.

"Another one? How many am I going to do for him" Vanity questions immediately as she looks down at the vanilla envelop. With her index finger, she quickly slices open the letter, and reads the contexts. "Very well..." The girl looks up and nods once before heading back out to the now busy streets of central.

The smell of a mysterious black-cladded man's cologne could be sensed a far distance from where he stood propped against a cold brick wall. Pieces of the red stone were stained with age, while others gave off the appearance of being bought yesterday. This imperfection..this--this unbalanced time bothered him in the strangest way. He really shouldn't be here waiting; he should be inside plotting the birth of the new world...his world that he was going to give to Hild so she could stand at the very top. That was what she wanted after all. Oh yes, he would give her peace. After all the blood was shed, no one would ever want to see red again. And then...then maybe even bricks would become obsolete because of their grotesque color.

Aurel tapped his pointed black shoe, staring down at it slapping against a crack in the beautifully paved sidewalk. The buckle on the side jingled slightly, giving off the impression of the second hand ticking across the face of a clock. He was early; he had no reason to complain. He had come early for one reason: to show Hild that he could do this. Despite his strange mental condition and lack of care for his own existence, he wanted her to see that he was perfectly capable of being normal--that he wasn't always the bothersome brother she rolled her eyes at. That bothered him the most... It actually almost stole a butcher knife from the kitchen to do away with the one whom was seen as a bother to her. It was no different from the other times he tried to kill himself: he was caught and prevented from doing so. Why?! It could only be because he had a purpose...something to accomplish before he died. And that was to change this world--no--it was to build a new one upon the destruction of this one. He smirked beneath strands of shiny black bangs that hung down to tickle his clean-cut chin. A long black tail hung down his back, carefully tied with a black elastic band. He wore a suit from the most expensive store in central, that made him look like the King of royalty. The white undershirt was perfectly white, untouched, clean, and reeking of that cologne a normal person could never buy if they spent their entire lives saving for it. Aurel's smirk slipped away and he sighed, hoping that Hild would approve of his normalcy. Well, normally, he would just wear his scary-looking trench coat and a lazy tie, but today...he looked like--yes--a king!

King Aurel was waiting for his Queen. Where was she!? He looked at his insanely expensive silver watch and found himself staring at the ingrained diamonds as if they had put a spell on him. Hey, it was all he could do to keep himself outside in the crowd of humans streaming around down the city street. This...was the busy district right in the heart of Central. Aurel was positive he was going to die before the night ended. The sounds of car engines, of store doors opening and closing, feet hitting the ground, talking, rambling, chatting, giggling, UGH! He had to get out of he--!! Wait. He couldn't do that. Slowly, very slowly, he crossed his arms and took a deep breath. Someone--he forgot who--said that might help. Yeah, maybe prevent him from running out into the intersection and praying a truck was coming. Don't sweat, don't sweat. He had to look perfectly fine: the picture of a gentleman. He could do it. Aurel had practiced for tonight. It would be perfect. He could do it!!

Maybe he wasn't in a visible enough place. Hild was coming from a meeting. Aurel had also come from a meeting. They were supposed to be meeting in front of the major department store and were going to go from there to the restaurant. Aurel looked at his watch again. She only had three more minutes before she was late. There was a problem. Maybe she thought they were meeting at the restaurant!? Aurel flung himself from his spot out into the middle of the passerby traffic and collided with a blond chick whose fashion sense made him consider continuing his plummet towards the street to find a truck. Her lavender shoes were the worst. Aurel stared at them as the momentum threw him backwards into a wooden cafe sign that crashed to the ground. He picked it up in the same moment, attempting to mutter an apology like he was told to (today was a special day after all), but it turned into: "As an apology, please allow me to buy you an outfit that matches."

It was so strange to see the places people end up throughout the years, and how their lives are completely different than what they expected growing up. When the naïve imaginations flutter away like broken dreams, leaving scars on the hearts of man, reality hits hard. Life hits hard. Growing up, Alena always wanted to explore. Traveling to the stars and beyond, leaving any and all worries behind. As of now, that’s the least she had to think about. Worrying was apart of her life, engraved into her soul, running throughout her blood. Vanity! Vanity! Vanity! That’s exactly what her life was now; everything was so shallow and conceited. Why? Did she ask for this hand- no. However, it was given to her by destiny she supposes.

Here she was, now stuck in a situation far higher than her mind could comprehend. It was as if the world was about to come crashing down, exposing her for the lonely and self-conscious woman she really was. There were times where the homunculus felt as if she lives in a glass house, baring her secrets to the eyes of central. Those longs nights of living alone in the house ‘Father’ provided her, she kept a small journal. Each night, she would write a letter to someone, someone she felt connected too. Was there even such a person? Now look at her, doing dirty work from some criminal, just to get the ‘upper’ hand in life. This sin, this deadly sin that was controlling her mind wanted it all. Fame, honor, beauty, sex, lies, deceit, ANYTHING. You think of it, her lips crave it.

Lost in thought, examining the fine cursive written on the letter, she didn’t realize she was heading into a collision with someone that could change her life forever… His body was rock hard, firmly planted against the pavement. Slowly, Alena raises her gaze to the gentleman. Her ocean blue eyes stare elegantly into his. He was hurting; it was clear by the look he gave in return. Just as she attempts to look away, the young man blurts a highly rude remark about her attire. Sure, it wasn’t perfect. In fact, it was ugly! However, she needed this look today. It was the only hope of feeling normal, keeping the crowd from staring her down as she walks the streets of Central.

The homunculus takes a step back, regretting it instantly. There was something so familiar about this man, something that seems to be hungry for a connection with her soul. Just as she takes a step back, her sense are bombarded with the freshly scent of his cologne. This scent was so delicious, so intoxicating for the girl that it causes her cheeks to flush a bight color. Instantly, the deadly sin of Vanity took over. Her appearance sharpens and she couldn’t resist a smirk. “Oh, I bet you would enjoy that. But, I cannot resist a free outfit.” Vanity scoffs before realizing the note she was holding had fallen to the ground during the little bump between the two. The young lady bends down and swoops the letter back into her grasp. “You look familiar, like I’ve seen you before…” Alena takes a brief second to ponder this strange, yet highly familiar man.

Good god... That meeting had taken longer than she'd hoped for! The young and petite Fuhrer of Amestris, Hild, sighed softly as she moved as quickly as she could towards the department store that Aurel had asked her to meet him by. She had to get changed too, obviously. But that had taken her little time, funnily enough. She smiled softly as she walked, tossing the hair behind her that she was wearing down today. She really didn't know exactly what she was coming here for, but her Brother had said something along the lines of... 'Come dressed nicely'. Dressed nicely? That was an unusual request for him to make, usually he just needed her in her normal clothes.

But she was dressed nicely... And the summer dress that flowed down her body was just the thing that she needed. She hadn't felt this free in a long time... She giggled to herself, and rounded a corner, just in time to see Aurel bang into some poor blonde girl. She walked forwards, and tried to say something to the girl that he'd banged into, but saw Aurel... apologizing? Okay, hold up. She rubbed her eye, and looked again. Nope, he was most certainly apologizing...

"As an apology, please allow me to buy you an outfit that matches." Ah. There it was. She had already trademarked that, the 'Aurel Apology'. Yes, it was the first time it had ever been used, but that was what it was now called. Of all things, the Aurel Apology was one of the most insulting apologies that could ever come out of a human mouth. She sighed softly, and put a soft hand onto Aurel's shoulder, nuzzling the back with her nose, and then peeking over with a small smile.

"He just means that he's sorry. Think nothing of it!" She laughed softly, the innocent look on her face belying the fact that this girl was, indeed, the Fuhrer. She looked up and down the girl. Pretty face, but Aurel wasn't wrong. She certainly wasn't dressed the part... She was just too nice to tell the poor girl otherwise. She stepped out, and around Aurel, before walking up to and smiling softly at the girl, holding out a hand and studying her carefully.

"My name's Hild. Hild Schwarz. This idiot behind me is my brother, Aurel. Pleased to meet you!" She closed her only eye with a bright smile on her face, and then tilted her head to the side, opening that eye and carefully looking over the girl's features.

Why was it that she was so strikingly familiar? Hild walked up to the girl, and put a finger onto her cheek. What was it that made this rather beautiful woman so familiar to her? Was it the voice, the mannerisms? Or was it... the face? She turned back to look at Aurel, and then back at Vanity. No, not that. She sighed softly, resigned to the fact that she had completely no idea who this girl was, and not a single idea why she was so familiar...

She hated being so out of the loop. It was so... unbecoming of her as Fuhrer. She sighed again, and decided to take a seat while the rest of the introductions went on. This looked like it was going to take a little while.

Where a simple letter leads too Empty Re: Where a simple letter leads too

Post by Aurelius Schwartz Fri Apr 01, 2011 1:44 pm

Unlike the other two, Aurel noticed nothing of the sort. To him, she was just some blond, however, Hild was now in the picture. He found this out with surprise when she came up behind him. From his shoulder down to his ankles he felt a jolt of shock and practiced great withholdal by turning his head slowly to meet her single blue eye. That is, instead of a normal, rather annoyed reaction which involved either bloodshed or embarrassment of the other party. Silence spread around him, red and blue eyes narrowing in deep, unshed thought. Leaning back, to make more bodily contact with the fuhrer, he scanned over the thin fabric of her summer dress and smil--smirked until she called him an idiot. When that happened, Aurel scowled and looked away, crossing his arms. "I'm not your brother," he muttered halfheartedly. It seemed the well-dressed man didn't have the energy or resources to argue correctly or normally with this girl in which he usually overpowered. Today, Aurelius Carston Schwarz just didn't have it in him. One reason for this could be his overly exaggerated display of appearance or possibly just simply that fact that he was outside surrounded by people he would rather not encounter by any means.

It was bridging on painful. It felt like someone was pulling off his skin--slowly carving away at it and ripping off small pieces with a tiny razor. Aurel's blood was now pooling around him, drowning him, and exposing him to the world that looked away in disgust. Just let me die! he wanted to scream, but he no longer had a voice. It was nightmare, no...a vision played in his mind by his subconscious: something he could never control. Aurel was shaking now, very slightly--no one probably noticed except Hild. His heart was racing, and it took all of his remaining energy not to start panting and duck into the nearest alleyway. It was too late. He was royally screwed. Aurel put a finger to his head, touching his right temple and shutting his eyes. He took a deep breath again like he had been told, but this time it wasn't helping. Maybe he should give the blondie some money and run. Hild would be disappointed, but at least he would be sane. What would she want more: his death or his sanity? Aurel clenched his other hand into a fist and felt his groomed nails digging into his pale skin. He dropped his other hand to his side, defeated in its attempt to calm himself down. There was another method, but he was sure it would fail and only succeed in making him want to sprawl out on a sewer grate and sleep like a bum. Aurel was the King of royalty today. He was escorting his Queen to dinner. He couldn't afford this to happed. Aurel grabbed the vile in his pocket with clammy fingers and slowly withdrew it, tossing it into the sewer he had been staring at. Be lost! Now he didn't have a choice. He had to deal with it. Despite the fact that he was getting dizzy and could barely breathe, he had to deal with it. If Aurel could make it without trying to kill himself and or losing consciousness, he would win. That was all. Could he do it? Certainly. He was Aurelius Carston Schwarz dammit!

"Sh--" Fuck. Aurel never cursed and now he was cursing at himself in his head. This act alone bewildered him. Shit. ...NO! Hild was right; he was an idiot. He failed at speaking a sentence. Now he might as well die--No! It was a trick! His subconscious was trying to trick him into death again! It was what he wanted and by any means it would be accomplished, but Aurel wanted tonight to succeed more. So let it!! "Sh..." Aurel coughed, trying to suppress the fact that he was failing at life. Hell, his whole life he failed...which is why he should die--No! Why... Maybe Aurel wasn't meant for this world, no, he was sure that he wasn't, which was why--... Seriously? Aurel took a deep breath, trying to reset his mindset, but of course, it failed. He heart skipped a beat. "We're going now." He grabbed Hild's wrist and attempted to walk straight for the restaurant, but of course not. He tripped over the damn cafe sign that he had set up himself and collided with another person. However, Aurel at least had the awareness not to fall on his ass; he fell into the brick wall. Facing it like a scolded child, he shut his eyes, forehead pressed against the hard, cold rock. And then he said out loud in a shaking voice: "I should just die."

So Aurel was his name, and the girl was Hild. How quant. Not! Inside, Vanity wanted to scream, throw up her claws and attack the two like a fierce lioness hunting for food for her mate and children. It was then; in her brief moment of rage she caught another glimpse of the man’s eyes. Obviously he was in deep thought, something was eating him away from the inside out. That much was clear, but what was it? Could it possibly be the younger girl next to him? She was cute, but nothing to die over… So Vanity thought. After all, she was full of conceit, and in her mind she was on a much higher level of attractiveness than Hild was. Alena stood in silence, watching the actions of Aurel, and how he completely made a fool out of himself the moment his face smacked hard against the brick wall of the café. Part of her felt empathy for the man, wanting to take that pain away from him and bring it upon her, but the other half just wanted to laugh. Where were the cameras at a time like this? This would be something you’d see in a movie, yet it was happening in real life.

“Are you okay?” Alena sincerely asks, worrying that this man could possibly be mentally unstable. Well, actually that was a high probability, but she didn’t want to rush to a conclusion just yet.

Alena stares at the two individuals before her once again, back and forth from the girl to the boy. Why was it they, especially him, looked too familiar. Part of her felt a connection to the man; in a way she hadn’t felt with anyone else. Her heart was racing, drumming loud and clear in her mind. She wasn’t attracted to him, but rather drawn to him. Though he was highly clumsy, Vanity felt like Aurel could protect her from the brief moment they’ve shared together. Her blue eyes break contact with them both, dropping to the letter in her hand. She had an idea what was inside, but knew that she couldn’t open in here. It was too risky, especially if HE was spying on her this instant from afar. These two strangers would be dead and they hadn’t done anything at all. They just happen to run in Vanity at the wrong time, destiny right? No, not destiny. Vanity wasn’t about to throw away a connection to this Aurel man for some reason she couldn’t explain. Instead, Alena folds the envelope in half and stuff it down inside her purse for safekeeping. “Well, I suppose you two have a date to go too then?” Vanity smirks and shrugs her shoulders quickly. "I won’t bother you any further if you wish.” Her voice trails off as she expects to be leaving soon.

"I'm not your brother," That little mutter came from the man who had been, up until a second or so ago, trying to make more body contact with her? Well, she wouldn't deny it. She never really did see him as her brother, but she needed some sort of cover story, right? She sighed softly and tilted her head to the side for a second, studying this newcomer a little more than she should - again.

She went to step forwards to speak a little more, when she felt Aurel shaking slightly against her body. Her lips pursed a bit, and she slid a comforting hand into Aurel's, trying her best to calm him down as quickly as she could. He wasn't calm, and she needed him to be. They were out in the public eye, and if he was to falter now, it would be horrifying, to say the least. With a small smile on her face, she was about to speak to the new girl... When...

"We're going now." After a bit of stuttering, Aurel took his hand out of her's and grabbed her by the wrist, trying to pull her away. In his rush to escape, he tripped over a cafe sign, his another person, and then went into a brick wall. Hild's first reaction was of worry - although she was trying not to laugh at the same time. She hurried over to him.

"I should just die." She blinked a couple of times, was about to speak, but was interrupted by the new girl.

“Are you okay?” Hild turned back to look at her for a second.

"He should be alright. He's done this before - he'll do it again. He gets worked up, and then makes an utter fool of himself." She shrugged lightly, before turning to face her completely.

"That letter... It's you, isn't it?" Her voice was barely a whisper, hopefully neither Vanity nor Aurel heard her speak. She'd been receiving reports of mysterious occurrences. One of those times, they'd slipped up, left an envelope on the scene. Almost identical to the one that that girl held in her hands. How fate guided two together. Maybe she could find out more about these mysteries...

“Well, I suppose you two have a date to go too then? I won’t bother you any further if you wish.” Hild blushed slightly and quickly. A date?! That's what this was? She turned quickly to Aurel, seeing if he knew it to be the truth, but he was still looking in the other direction. Her eye's gaze fell back onto the ravishing woman, and her voice began to stutter slightly.

"W-w-well, I'm sure that w-we're not on a d-date... S-so I think we c-can sp-spare a minute or t-two m-more... R-right, A-Aurel?" She looked sheepishly at the man again, twiddling her thumbs together. Had he really brought her out here... on a date? Her heart was fluttering in her chest now, it might finally be happening!

Where a simple letter leads too Empty Re: Where a simple letter leads too

Post by Aurelius Schwartz Fri Apr 29, 2011 7:01 pm

The wall had stains on it and there were those little tiny orangey-red spiders crawling up it for some reason. Aurel was sure that he had accidentally killed one with his chin. He frowned, calmly watching them scurry into a little hole in the cement, nearly invisible to the human eye. He pulled away from the wall no longer contemplating his death at the cost of an insect's life. Wasn't that how it always worked? They were standing at the top, controlling a country of idiots who all just wanted to live in peace. Wanting, did nothing--simply living, did nothing. Action and death was the only means in which to be reborn from the ashes of destruction. This was how they stepped on the insects of war, looking forward towards of future of ruined lives no longer seeking differences, but seeking commonality in order to rebuild. This was the only way... And Aurel had to keep living to make this happen. He had to continue in order to see Hild's smile when it was all over. Despite the many reasons why he didn't deserve to live, he had to turn around.

Aurel turned around. Beady eyes that could barely be called human were watching him from every direction. The sound of money being shoved into wallets and the change jingling ravenously: it was all a plot to destroy him. Aurel's head was spinning and he gripped the edges of the cafe sign whose peeling paint poked angrily at his skin. Why did this have to happen? Everything was fine until he had to encounter this person--this familiar blond creature that somehow wasn't bothering him as much as it should. He let go of the sign and walked in a perfect straight line directly towards her just a bit passed Hild. In a cold, emotionless voice he spoke, mismatched eyes never leaving the blond's. "Usually when one gives their names the polite thing to do is to respond with your own." Aurel put a hand in the pocket of his coat, gripping his folded trident tightly. The cold metal licked at his fingertips, running shivers up his spine. Aurel's eyes narrowed into vicious slits. That's right he was more dangerous than those people with their money, jobs, and corrupt ideals. A devil-may-care smirk curled onto his lips. "We were on our way to dinner to discuss the destruction of the world." He leaned in yet closer to her, a smug look sharpening the vibrant colors of his eyes. "Would you like to join us?"

So much for the date. It was a useless thing anyw--No, it was something that made Hild happy. He would have to make it up to her later. Yes, he had heard what the eye patch girl said regardless of if she whispered it or thought it telepathically. With the swoosh of a long, raven-haired pony tail, Aurel turned back around to face Hild. His expression softened to drip egotistical plans of conquering and destroying. It was a look that she had to be used to by now. He sighed and took his hand out of his pocket, crossing his arms with a mock-impatient look. "We don't have all day."

"That letter... It's you, isn't it?" Played over and over in the back of her mind as she stood there watching the two interact so strangely, yet endearing. Her heart was ponding inside her chest, but she knew she had to keep calm and collected. After all, that is what a woman in power does, right? Fortunately for Vanity, she heard perfectly what Hild had said, and knew exactly what she was talking about. Soon, Alena shakes her head no, honestly pleading with herself that she wasn't the one writing the letters.

"Oh? This letter?" Alena reaches down into her bag and pulls out the envelope. "No, I don't write the letters, I only receive them and do as I'm told." Great, here she was, giving information to two people she had only just met. Her heart jumps again, racing heavily as she stood outside that small cafe shop. People were around, she knew that they were watching her to see if she would do as she was told.

Almost immediately into her raging thought process, his voice broke through. The ridged coldness tore through her barriers, stabbing her straight on. He wanted to know her name, simple as that.

"Oh, I completely forgot to introduce myself." Alena looks down from embarrassment, quickly observing a few weeds growing between the brick pavement. The Symbolism, how ironic. Slowly, her eyes make their way back up to meet theirs once more. "I'm Alena, it's my pleasure to meet you."

Soon after the introduction, the man quickly asks her to join them for dinner. How nice, but foolish on the other hand. Inviting a homunculus to dinner... Well, nevertheless, it would be entertaining even if he didn't actually mean 'world destruction'. "Ah, dinner. Well, if you don't mind- I'd love to join you for dinner." Alena nods her head for acceptances and takes a step towards the couple. "Are we eating here?" Alena laughs and points to the entrance of the cafe that Aurelius clearly missed previously.

Oh? This letter? No, I don't write the letters, I only receive them and do as I'm told."

"...oh." Well, that was disappointing. She had hoped that there was something going on, but there was nothing but missing information and that was about it.

"We were on our way to dinner to discuss the destruction of the world. Would you like to join us?" A soft whine left the girl's lips, but she tried her best to hide it. She wanted to be alone with Aurel... Not with someone else. She whined again, a little louder this time, before shaking her head in defeat. No, no, there was nothing that she could do. All that she could do was follow, and hope that things turned out well - maybe this girl would deny them? Yeah, right.

"Oh, I completely forgot to introduce myself. I'm Alena, it's my pleasure to meet you." She started for a second or two, and then her mouth opened slightly.

"Waaaah~ That's such a pretty name~" She closed her eye and giggled, tilting her head to the side; the previous thoughts of worry about her privacy with Aurel all but completely disappearing. She smiled brightly at Alena, and jumped back from her, standing next to Aurel and moving her body closer to his with a small giggle. She was going to make it obvious that Aurel was her's.

"Ah, dinner. Well, if you don't mind- I'd love to join you for dinner. Are we eating here?" Oh, that. Hild prepared to whine over her dominance of Aurel again, but she decided against it. This girl was far too cute~! That, and maybe Aurel would behave? If so, then... The girl leaned up and kissed him softly on the cheek, before whispering.

"If you behave yourself, I'll take you out to somewhere you want to go tomorrow~" She smiled, and leaned back down - she was sure that she could handle this for one night...

...

Aurel wanted to jump off a cliff. He ended up kicking Hild lightly in the shin instead. It wouldn't necessarily...hurt her. But he was completely certain that it would shut her up and her obnoxious pleasantries. The annoyance clearly beamed through his mismatched eyes and he let out a frustrated sigh. What's more...was Alena's suggestion. "No, we are not going there. It seems, however, to enjoy impeding my path, so what more reason to ignore it?" With a whip of his coat, he turned, walking blindly towards the fancy restaurant on the corner. Hah, and Hild had been saying how she would take him anywhere he wanted later... Haha...that was funny. Aurel touched his cheek where she had kissed him, muttering under his breath that dying was the best solution.

He was mostly surprised by the fact that the girl by the...strangely familiar-sounding name, Alena, wasn't taken aback by his strings of destruction-infested dialogue. Huh. She wasn't scared away. Maybe he could use her. What better solution to this terrible day? He swept through the fancy glass doors and strode up to the podium where a man reeking of cologne as well made Aurel choke out his reservation name instead of declare it with valor. He was lead to their table, demanded that another chair be set up immediately before the two slow-walking girls came in, and proceeded to attempt to ignore everything happening around him. The dull...mindless chatter of pathetic human life. Rich drones with their fancy pearls muttering about the wars he waged... It made him sick.

When they sat down, Aurel turned to Alena with a vicious look glimmering in his eyes. "So, how do you feel about the world?"

And that was the first true question the long-lost brother asked his still unknown sister. That was also the beginning of an alliance to rebuild the world from the debris of sweet, tethered destruction.

[Note- I figure they discuss their plans and then begin plotting the overtaking of Drachma, etc.]
