FULL NAME:
→ Angelo DiMacia

AGE:
→ 27

SEX:
→ Male

BIRTH PLACE:
→ Turin, La Cerisé

RACE:
→ Cerisian

DATE OF BIRTH:
→ June 20, 1984

...........................................................................

HEIGHT:
→ 193.04 cm (6’4”)

WEIGHT:
→ 104.33 kg (230 lb.)

PICTURE:
Spoiler:

DESCRIPTION:
→ Angelo is perhaps a standard Cerisian when you look at him. Brown hair, green eyes, soft skin… And that’s about when he stops being standard. He stands a head above most others around him, though his slightly thinner frame give the impression that he’s a bit lanky but light. If one were to look at his flesh directly, they’d note several scars burns across his body, notable ones being are several gunshot wounds, as well as the large burns on his forearms. On his right upper-arm, by his shoulder, he has a tattoo of his old Gelemortian unit’s symbol, the Screaming Eagles.

His clothing is influenced heavily by his experience in war. Cargo pants, combat boots, and a heavy preference for long-sleeved shirts, all of which fits as well as it possibly can, being only as baggy as it has to be. He does, on occasion, like to dress up, in which case he falls back on a semi-formal black suit, red button-up shirt, and a matching fedora. His combat clothes, on the other hand, have a sinister feeling to them. Combat boots, camouflage pants, and a shirt with metal plates stitched into it, as well as a gas mask. While his armor is battle-worn, his clothes are replaced as soon as they begin to wear out, though they always reek of flamethrower fuel.

Usually slouching, Angelo rarely stands at his full height outside of combat. His feet pound heavily on the ground as he walks, his left foot tilted slightly counter-clockwise, causing him to drift slightly to the left if he doesn’t fix his trajectory. His hands are usually dirty, with black soot often collecting under his fingernails. His eyes are cold and distant, though “eyes of a killer” would be an accurate description as well. When he smiles, you can see his teeth are yellow, several of which have been capped due to cavities. Due to his exposure to chemicals and fuel, he often smells of the stuff, even when he’s cleaned and dressed up for the occasion.

PERSONALITY:
→ Angelo would be best described as having a “firey” personality. He’s aggressive, protective, and can be a bit of an asshole when it comes down to it. Things are often “my way or the highway,” and he only respects those that show him respect first. His personality has often been the spark that causes conflict between himself and others, and he has a tendency to talk first and think later, resulting in him adding fuel to the fire.

Hot-headed would also be another way to describe him. His time in the military has taught him to act first and ask questions later, a habit that he hasn’t even attempted to get rid of upon rejoining normal society. Combined with his stubbornness, he often finds himself in over his head and on the run. Though that would push a normal person to change their ways, Angelo quite enjoys the thrills of chase and conflict, which further drives him towards conflict.

He is by no means “refined.” Unlike the ideal soldier, he never quite left the military mindset. In many aspect, he considers himself superior to normal civilians, considering he has risked life and limb to protect and fight on behalf of his people. Regardless of country, he respects other soldiers, since he himself has gone through several battles. He shows a particular distaste for Commissioned Officers, viewing them out-of-touch with the battles fought or the needs of soldiers, a result of his first time attacking Panei.

Much in life is interpreted as a game or contest to Angelo. Something to win, something to beat others at. As such, he tends to approach situations aggressively, and often with unnecessary force. He tries to do things “efficiently,” which, to him, is simply a synonym for “quickly.” Constantly fidgeting, there’s little in this world that he has patience for, and even then he rarely shows it. Like fire, he’s full of energy, on the move, and so is his mind. Focus only when required, and stay nimble for when it’s not required.

Like any accomplished soldier, Angelo is a very superstitious man, though mostly in ways that the military lends itself to. If he can avoid it, he never enters a room first, walks in the back of the line, and always assumes the frail old lady is dangerous until proven otherwise.

HISTORY:
→ Aneglo DiMacia was born in Turin, La Cerisé, to a talented shoemaker and a quiet tanner. He was one of two children, though he and his sister were always distant, since they were born thirteen years apart, a gap that’s quite common in siblings with similar situations. His youth, however, was largely uneventful. At the age of eight, his sister married and moved out, leaving him to be an only child when growing up. He went to school in his small hometown, and during his time off helped his parents with making shoes or working leather.

He found his calling when he was sixteen. Gelemorte had, yet again, gotten aggressive with Esparia, and was preparing for another skirmish on Esparian soil. Forging his father’s signature, he joined into the military due to a few lies and being misleadingly tall for any Cerisian. After going through an expedited boot camp and weapons training, he was shipped off with the rest of the force to Panei, and event that he recalls as one of the more terrifying periods of his life.

Given little detail on the island himself, almost everything was a surprise. The trees seemed strange to him, and the wildlife fierce. But nothing quite prepared them for the residents…

It was common knowledge that alchemy was frowned upon in Esparia, but every person they ran into seemed to use it. And then there was the wildlife, and strange, unnatural creatures… Not to mention the plants, which was what probably caused the most casualties to his company. It seemed like every plant did something terrible and dangerous, which left Angelo confused to how he even managed to survive unscathed. Besides one of the residents burning his left forearm – though he had returned the favor and managed a good swipe along the length of her right arm.

By the time he was recovered from the island, he had seen much. Friends had gone berserk, attacking everyone in sight, and others seemed to slowly shamble around with blank looks in their eyes. Some of the creatures had done terrible things to his buddies, and the people – witches, as he later found out – had unleashed hell upon them all. Engulfing fires, sheets of ice, waves of earth, and even deadly gusts of wind took them out by the dozens.

Returning to Gelemorte, it was obvious they were terribly unprepared. As it turned out, Panei was considered the most dangerous island of Esparia. The residents all practiced alchemy, the animals were all large and dangerous, and even the plants themselves were poisonous in one way or another. The ultimate decision, of course, would be to never attack that island again.

Of course, Angelo is a stubborn man, and decided to do better next time. While the situation cooled down, he went back to training, this time to be a shock-troop. He’d be one of the first to hit the beaches – should a land battle ever occur – and he specialized in shock and awe tactics. Specifically, he was trained in the now-rarely used flamethrower, something perfect for inspiring fear in the enemy, as well as destroying any and all plants in between him and his goal. Soon, his was put into a five-man team, whose sole purpose was to cut through the enemy ranks and wreak havoc. And while they waited, they practiced.

Occassional skirmishes erupted over the years, mostly in the form of naval battles, but a few were on small, largely uninhabited islands between the two countries. Although each skirmish did little to affect the conflict as a whole, Angelo and his unit grew rather competent and effective at their job. At age 19, Angelo got yet another shot at Panei, and reveled in the opportunity.

This time around, the Gelemortian navy had breached through Esparia’s defensive line. Angelo and his team had their mission: fuck up everything that crossed their path. It wasn’t long before they got started. Angelo was first, armed with a gas mask and a flamethrower, leaving fire and ash in his wake. His squadmates followed him, though it wasn’t long before they separated response to danger. It was then, lost in the middle of the jungle, that he ran into a witch. The two fought for what seemed like hours, throwing fire back and forth at one another. Beaten, burned, and tired, Angelo barely managed to win the fight, taking the witch’s hand – and the alchemic circle on it – as a trophy.

After a half a dozen more deployments, refining his work, and marrying his new alchemy to his profession, Angelo left the military at the age of 21, giving a solid five years of his life to the service. Returning home, he found himself at a loss of what to do. After living an aimless life for a year, he was approached by a a suited man going by the name of Shepard, and was made a strange offer. Having little to think about or consider, he accepted it, and joined the ranks of the Spectres.

His time in the Spectres was rather crazy. For every friend he made, he seemed to make two enemies. He burned more bridges than he needed to, and definitely more buildings than required. His behavior was described as “erratic” and “dangerous,” with “a heavy preference to solve things with conflict.” For years, though, he served as a reliable, if reckless, agent for the organization, but things came to sixteen months ago, when he was caught after a rather sensitive operation. Having relied on the organization for years, it came to him as a shock that it didn’t try and help out one of its agent. No back-door deal, no top-notch lawyer, nothing. Slowly, it dawned on him that he was burned by the Spectres, that they had had enough of his shenanigans at their expense. Taking a plea bargain, he served a year in a Cretan prison for three counts of arson.

Now out of prison, he has slowly been reorienting himself, and rebuilding himself as a person.

ALCHEMIC ABILITY:
→ Angelo has been working with volatile materials for years. As a result, he has married alchemy and technology together in a strange way. Instead of relying on a heat source (pilot light, match, heating coil, etc.), he can use his alchemy to set certain things ablaze by pumping energy into it, which will excite molecules until it catches fire. This is limited to sensitive materials, like napalm, items with a good amount of alcohol content (80 proof is the minimum, but the higher the proof the better it burns), gasoline, etc. He cannot, for example, light the air on fire, paper, etc. Also, keep in mind that air is still required for the affected molecules to burn (since air is kinda important for fire and junk).

...........................................................................

TRIVIA:
→ His alchemy is based off the work of an Esparian “witch” from Panei.
→ Angelo despises piñatas with a passion. You don’t want to know why.
