To kill a missing person... Empty To kill a missing person...

Post by Guest Wed Feb 09, 2011 12:38 am

The shadows crept the city at this time of night. Lurking deep within the dead streets of Central. The blistering wind blew throughout the entire city, rustling fallen leaves at the base of lamp post. A cyclist rides his bike throughout the city, rubbing his engine as he passes certain areas in the city. The man behind the antics wore a tight leather jacket, a v-neck t, and leather boots during his ride. Street corner after street corner the man drove by, hoping and searching for the one person he was on a mission to find.

As the night continues to grow darker and darker by the second, L nervously drives like a mad man. Beads of sweat form around his brow as he searches for his target he was suppose to kill. It wouldn't be long until Big Camik would be on his tail for not killing the man fast enough... Which was the last thing on earth he needed at this moment. He was already terribly in debt, and this paycheck would easily provided the necessities for the next month.

"Oh come on, where are you!" He mumbles underneath his breath as he flies through a red light furiously.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

Post by Sal Wed Feb 09, 2011 1:14 am

A small boy wandered the dark alleys of Amestris, clearly without a precise destination. However, this was no ordinary boy. He was of Ishvallan blood, which was clearly displayed by his bright red eyes and near snow-white hair, and he had the ears and tail of a cat, which were as white as his hair. His tan skin seemed like clay in this dark environment, but his eyes seemed to glow when he looked out of the alleyways.

One by one, he passed these alleys, looking for one that wasn't unbearable. The smells were too strong for his acute sense of smell, nor did he want to lay in an alley that was unbearably filthy. With a sigh, he continued along his path, searching for a place to stay for the night. His steps were practically silent, and his dark clothing made him blend into the dark sections of the streets. The chimera made it a point to avoid any street lamps he came across, if only to avoid drawing attention to himself. He knew that the dark streets of Amestris weren't safe, and moving along unnoticed was the surest way to avoid any trouble.

After a few more unsuccessful examinations, he found an alley that seemed decent enough, at least for tonight. The dumpster in this particular alley didn't smell, most likely due to the fact that this wasn't a densely populated residential building. Not only that, but its top seemed clean enough (and large enough) for him to fit. He quietly climbed up the side of the dumpster, trying to make as little noise as possible. When he got to the top of the metal contraption, the boy tried to make himself as comfortable as possible on the lid. The lid gave out under him, and the boy fell into the large can with a loud clang. He felt his heart drop as he dropped onto the bags inside of it, and the dumpster tipped over to the side, causing the lid to close up from the inside.

The boy tried to push it open but it was caught on the bags, and in this position, the space was very cramped. He was trapped. In a dumpster. Too small. The Ishvallan began to breathe heavily, and tried once again to push the lid open in vain. He was beginning to panic, and tried once more. Nothing.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

Just as L speeds through the red traffic light, he catches a figure quickly moving into a back alleyway. Could it be! The cyclist mumbles to himself before doing a 180, and zooming back to the alleyway where he spots the figure running further down the shadows. The mysterious man was hidden, tucked away deep within the long narrow side street. L pulls his bike to a halt, leaping off it a few feet. Without a seconds notice, Edward pulls out a handgun from his back pocket, firing off several shots into the darkness.

BANG, BANG, BANG

He wasn't entirely sure if the bullets made contact or not, but he stands still in a moment of complete fear. The tip of the gun was warm, with smoke rising from the top. His hand was quivering, before he slowly lowers the gun back down to his side. Normally L wouldn't be this nervous, but he knew his life would be over if he didn't do as Camik suggested.

Big Camik, he was an underground Drug Lord in Central. More knew of him, but little ever saw him. Little else was known about the Lord, for he kept it that way. If one made a deal with Cam, it was basically equivalent to selling your soul to the devil. Of course for L, he knew this going into the business. But still, when Camik offers you a deal, you either take it or get shot in the head.

L creeps forward, heading into complete and utter darkness. His eyes haven't adjusted yet, so it made it a challenge to walk. As he stumbles down the dampen alleyway, he quickly trips over a fallen trashcan.

"Ah, shit!" He grips when he completely falls to the ground. The mans palms scratch into a couple of pebbles on the unpaved road, tearing his flesh open on his hands.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

The boy had just given up on getting out of the metal contraption when something hit it from the side. A muffled voice, seemingly irritated, could be heard from right next to the boy. Startled, he jumped up, only to hit his head on the edge of the can. Sal let out a pained meow and put his hands on his head as he made himself even smaller in the enclosed space. His first priority was to get out of the can, but now that there was a voice outside, what would he do? The person whose voice it was could be someone dangerous, which definitely wasn't something the Ishvallan needed right now. A whimper escaped him, after which he promptly slapped his hands to his mouth.

He looked down to where the lid was wedged into the can tightly. There was a small corner that was open, scarcely letting in a little light, but it was hardly enough to make the boy comfortable. In fact, out of paranoia, he placed his foot over the hole. It was childish logic, if there was any behind his actions. He tried to press the lid back into place, but the chimera slid back in the can and his head hit the top again as his back got stuck in the narrowing confines of the metal box, and in a rather uncomfortable arched position.

"Ohhhhh," he whined, beginning to feel the pain of being stuck uncomfortably. He tried to wriggle free, but that only made it worse. His foot kept tapping against the lid in the process, causing quite a racket.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

The stinging of his hands was immense, as it rose throughout his entire forearms up to his shoulders. Edward sat there frozen for a moment, taking deep inhales and exhales. It wouldn't be long before Camik found him, and time was running out to kill the mysterious person. In the midst of thinking about his plan of action, a pounding could be heard from inside the trashcan. The banging of the metal sounded as if someone was stuck within it's confines. L slowly stands to his feet and walks cautiously over towards the ruckus.

"1,2,3" The man whispers to himself before completely pulling the lid away from it's body. Inside was a beast of some sort, well at first glance it looked like a beast. "What the hell.." L takes a step back and shakes his head at the Chimera. This thing, well, boy wasn't like any other. His face was a dark color, and his eyes bled red. Ishvallan. "Get out, get out right now!" Edward demand firmly without his voice quivering once.

It seemed that the more the boy tried to free himself from the can, the worse his situation got. His back rubbed against the single bag in the can, and he felt a sharp pain, as if something cut him. That was NOT good. As he continued to wriggle around, he noticed that it seemed extraordinarily quiet outside the smelly container. This caused him to pause for a moment and catch his breath. The silence could mean two things. Either the person he thought he heard was gone, or -

SKRRCLINK!

The lid came free from the can, and in its place, the Ishvallan saw... a man? The man did not look pleased. At least the chimera could be sure he hadn't imagined that voice earlier. The yelling that came next confirmed his earlier observation. Something was bothering this stranger. At that, the boy first sunk back into the can, but felt that searing pain after he did, causing him to jerk forward, free from the edges of the box. Sal climbed out painfully. All of the wiggling and getting stuck had made him sore, and his back was still stinging from... whatever was in that bag. Looking up at the man, the boy winced at the pain and just sat on the filthy ground. His ears fell back and he gave short, panicked breaths. At this point, Sal was like a deer caught in headlights.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

Walking around Central City, Jack was beginning to get worried about Salazar; his first mate. Although he had only recently found the young Chimera, Jack had begun to see him as his protege, and almost like a son; so naturally, he was getting worried after having not heard from him all day. Thinking back to when he had first met Sal, Jack decided to look through the alleyways; since if Sal were hiding somewhere they would be the most likely place. After turning a corner, Jack noticed the sound of gunshots, and immediately his protective nature kicked in. Without a second thought, he drew his .44 Caliber Magnum Revolver out from under his shirt with his left hand and quickly sprinted towards the sound of the gunshots. Slowing down and making no noise as he came to another corner right where the sounds had originated from, Jack took a deep breath and counted to three before quickly entering the alley, Revolver aimed directly at a mysterious figure.

Because of his increased adrenaline, Jack was able to analyze the scene in a matter of seconds. In front of himself, Jack saw Sal cowering on the ground while another man stood imposingly above him. Since Jack had made sure to be silent when approaching, it would be nearly impossible for the man to have expected him. "Oi! Drop your gun and step away from the kid unless you want me to blow your fucking brains out!" Jack shouted, his revolver aimed directly at the mans head. At this range, even if the man tried to move before Jack fired his revolver, he would still be able to score a direct shot on him. To emphasize his point, Jack pulled back the hammer of his revolver, making that distinctive clicking sound that was associated with revolvers. Just as Jack had told Sal when they had first met, he would not let anyone harm a member of his crew.

The air around was hot and hummed from Edward's perspective. The man was panting long and hard since that bullet shot into the darkness. In the midst of fluster and confusion, he completely left himself vulnerable to a surprise attack. The clicking of the gun close to his head was haunting. His body completely tenses in that moment of complete and utter fear. His fingers clinch unbearably against the metal gun, that it at first seems like he wasn't going to release it. However, without a second longer the gun in his hand falls to the ground near his feet. L extends his leg and kicks his gun far away from him.

It took all that he has on the inside not to burst into a scream. Different emotions flare thought his mind, clicking like a broken clock. Nothing was fitting, the pieces weren't lining up, and he has a deadline. L locks his weary eyes with the strange pirate looking man. He was too drained to even bother asking questions at this moment. Sweat beads drop down his cheek, landing in the puddles of the alleyway. Normally Edward wouldn't be one to give up, but it looks almost pointless at this moment. The man's legs collapse and he falls to his knees. The dark jeans soak the puddles of water as he sat there unaware of what to do next.

To kill a missing person... Empty Re: To kill a missing person...

Post by Sal Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:42 pm

The events that played out seemed like they took only a few seconds to the Ishvallan boy. From the moment that a figure appeared from around the corner and pointed a gun at the other man, it seemed as though the chimera was experiencing everything in double time, as if someone had pressed the fast forward button on life. Once the man who had seemingly ordered Sal out of the trash can dropped to his knees, the small boy began to make sense of everything. Right. This man, he didn't know him, and he had a gun... which was probably not a good thing. Then there was the other figure... Sal looked over to the other figure in this dim environment, and his eyes adjusted to the darkness again. During his panic they had been in a frenzy. It was Jack. Jack... Jack!

Salazar inhaled sharply at the realization, and then again when he noticed Jack's gun pointed at the other man. Did he know what was going on? The chimera began to stand up, and as he did so, he touched his hand to his back. It still hurt. A lot. And this particular Ishvallan boy did not respond well to pain. It was always a big deal for him, which could be seen in his past experiences with pain. When his hand touched his back, he noticed something strange about the way it felt. He took his hand off of his back and held it up so he could see it. There was something red on it. Giving a small sound, he sat there, dazed. Sal had never seen blood before.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Fifteen seconds.

Finally it clicked. Blood. There was blood. Sal fell to his knees, in the same fashion as the dangerous (but currently subdued) stranger. He wanted to scream, but he couldn't. The boy just sat on the damp ground, with dilated eyes. He was in shock. The wound wasn't severe, but there was blood.

"B... Blood..." he muttered in a near-whisper. His body shook as his gaze was fixed on the thick red smears on his hand. He wasn't even aware of the other two people anymore.

"Blood..."
