DESCRIPTION:
→ Izanagi is a man with hair soft as down and worn straight. It doesn't have much form to its own and sort of sits, parted over his face. the black strands stand out well upon his clear complexion. He has no notable marks of any sort over his body, including his somewhat narrow jaw and slimmed neck. His face has a bit of feminine hint to it, yet maintains what is need to be a manly person. Well rounded chin, sloped nose and eyes that could cut steel. Silver/gray colors the irises as they dive into black with flecks of a magenta color flicked over. His eyes are slimmed and almost cruel, yet hold a hidden warmth behind, like the eyes of an older brother. The soul of a man who's loved and lost flowing out onto his face. He does not have 'bushy' eyebrows, but they are thicker than a woman's luckily. He lacks facial hair.

His body is very tall for an Aerugese man. With a muscular physique of man who's seen war. All over his body has crevices riddled in scars and permanent bruises that undo his perfect skin. Some larger ones linger on the back and up to his nape. When he sits down, some of his spine may be vaguely visible from his anatomy. He has strong arms and legs that hold him comfortably. His feet are average sized for his height and weight and everything else about him is pretty average.

As for his clothes. Izanagi is known to wear things riddled in blacks, purples blues and golds. He likes cool-colored clothing that is also light and easy to fight with. At his side is a katana, strapped to his hip for quick access, sheathed in black wood. His pants are often tucked in boots or rest over his tabi/sandle mix. A very traditional man, he wears the typical Japanese apparel or an odd suit mix with 'tight' pants. Izanagi has a voice loud and demanding, one that is obviously in charge, yet not in the sense he's the boss. The way he carries himself is confident, yet open. His stance shows he's a listener when he needs to be, but also knows when to act instead of speak.

PERSONALITY:
→ Izanagi is a man who keeps to himself. All of his feelings and thoughts are constantly hidden behind his gray and thoughtful eyes. Even in the most excited of times, he tends to do little more than give a soft smile. He doesn't expand much on who he is or why he does what he does. a man with unknown ideals at times, he's a sturdy figure, almost like a lone wolf. He finds it almost awkward to have a conversation The moments without a smile are the ones his face is blank. The expressions of sadness, anger or even love are foreign to his face. The smiles at times, forced, are made to light up fading hope and keep the flame of his country running on the fuel they have. A hope for a brighter future and a better tomorrow. Izanagi knows better than to get his emotions to get in control and turns from situations that impede his professionalism. Should he be forced to deal is a situation that ends normally badly. Just because he knows better, does not mean he doesn't fall to temptation on the occasion. Everything he hopes and dreams are kept within a locked safe in his head. Even the jokes he makes don't seem to reflect what he truly aspires and only the ones he trust know of the ideas he holds from dark to bright.

His outer exterior is one that often exhibits annoyance or seriousness. He shows little patience for frivolous matters and with time, he rarely wastes it. He prefers people to work out their differences, compared to him intervening. A man who has high hopes for a country that seems so far in the dark. He finds that he gets a bit snippy and gives sarcastic comments to most situations given to him. Though he is not mean, simply he is preoccupied. For a majority of the comments he means no harm and simply is letting out small amounts of steam. A reaction to be expected by a man under a lot of stress. This however does not stop him from getting annoyed when people rely so heavily on others and cannot balance things on their own once in a while. As well as the simplest, petty things get on his nerves involving ripped socks or something tied wrong. An impulsive need is withheld to fix it no matter the person.

Izanagi is a man who strives truthfully for the betterment of others. Actions he takes are cruel and almost insane to some, but through his eyes he's helping better the person. It's not hard for him to take the form of a bad guy while upholding a relatively happy country. "Even if my country hates me, they are united instead of broken." He does not strive to be liked and does not care if someone promptly says they hate him. In response, he'd smile and laugh lightly as if it were funny to be said. He's realistic; knowing that you can't please everyone and there will always be a part of people that dislike you no matter what. He understands this and tries to enter each meeting with an open mind. He's a flexible man who is up for change if he finds it helpful for the country. He does not fear the change, he embraces it and makes it easier for others to embrace as well. In a battle, he takes both sides and looks for the most 'real' case scenario.

Determined, he gets what he needs to get done, done. A task given is a task completed. Izanagi does not lounge around and procrastinate, he gets to it then and there. As if he fears to forget what he needs to do, he accepts the challenge and does it full-heartedly, even if he dislikes the possible outcomes. Not only can he follow orders, he can give out the ones most logical to the situation. Sparing the country damage for if there are no people, then there is no country. He's focused and unable to really multi-task. Blocking out other distractions, a task is as if by tunnel-vision; sought after alone.

Main attributes to Izanagi are his silence and his control of emotions. Though he has a secret temper, he keeps it well maintained and unseen to most. The most hidden of actions show it, but he manages to seem calm most of the time. A patience that he doesn't see and a temper he has to swallow. One thing he does not tolerate is traitors. Any he finds are abruptly taken care of and he does not give a third chance. Izanagi does not fear putting people in their places if found needed. This includes duels and fighting to prove who really is the top dog. Though he doesn't 'fight to the death' he will fight until one is standing. Promptly after, he would take the wounded to a clinic and leave, not wishing to rub salt in the wounds. He prefers not to duel with real weapons and instead uses a bokken or shinai to show the 'wrong-doer' his corrupt ways.

Though he dislike to, he has the ability to torture others for what he needs. This is a darker side of him he dislikes visiting and tends to keep it in his past. The man ducks around it as much as is possible and seeks other methods rather than something so low. There have been circumstances though that he had to get it out of a person and torture was the only way. What made him more upset than anything was that seeing the person upset gave him a slight twinge of enjoyment. Though it was from the control he had on the situation, he promptly freaked out and now actually fears torturing people for information.

The most important person in the world to Izanagi is his younger sister. She is his flesh and blood and he would do anything he could to make her happy. Practically having raised her on his own, he cares deeply for her and if it weren't for her, Izanagi would probably be dead. Izanami keeps him in place by simply being around or talking a simple few words. If he had the chance, he would spend his whole day with his sister. Unfortunately, that is impossible, so he, instead spends whatever time he CAN with her to make up for it. Izanagi would easily kill for his sister's sake or kill someone if they harmed her. As well he may break a few fingers if someone so much as threatens her.

It's obvious by his code he has morals of sorts. He will not attack an unarmed individual, but in the waves of war that is often questioned. He feels if a person is on the battlefield, then they are submitting themselves to the cause of the side they fight for. He believe those who go against his side know what they are coming for and because of it, he will strike down anyone. He does not hold back: if a peasant were to come at him, he would fight him just the same way he would an armored soldier. "If you're one the battlefield you're there to fight and die for your cause. Anyone who believes anything less should be dead." He's not one to take to fighting women, but should they attack him, he will kill them just the same. He does not approve of killing children though, it is a sincere weak spot for him.

He has a in-depth mind often converged on many thoughts at once. Indeed, Yoshida is a very complex man who often is doing more than one thing at once as well as thinking multiple things at one time. He's a deep thinker and when alone will sit and contemplate the most viable actions for every situation he can think of. To the point of obsession, he thinks over what is the wisest decision and who are the key points that he needs. Though he dislikes losing his soldiers, he knows there are sacrifies to be made in any war. He's not fond of looking onto a battlefield or body count. Blood staining his fingers, he claims to have seen enough and simply wishes for now the country to heal. A wounded beast is not one that could function well. Such an injured beast fighting was surely suicide and to ensure a good recovery, he tries to save as many as he can.

When he's relaxing, Izanagi is a bit of a confused man. He can enjoy a good joke, but as he grows more into the military, it seems his smile fades away. He rarely has time for himself or to even do anything fun. The times he does, are usually spent simply lazing about or joking with the few friends he has left. Between the military and the revolution, he has little to no time to practice the old hobbies he has so enjoyed. Old traditional painting and even sparring kendou practice is all in vain with no time to do it. A smile that had once been very vivid now appears to be a blank expression that is distant more than not. However, when Izanami is around a few choice others, his smile doesn't end. Izanagi loves to smile and try to bring as much joy to others as he can.

There is not much time that Izanagi has to himself. He is constantly training or strategizing. Even in the times he seems available, they are nothing more than fleeting moments that are closed at any given second. He rarely has enough time for his sister, which depresses him. His schedule is full to burst, listed second to second of things he needs to get done and when. However busy he might get, he still attempts to give a portion to his family, during which he practices the more 'political' parts of his daily routines.

Getting on Izanagi's bad side is never a good thing. He is quick to anger, though also quick to bury said anger. Under a facade of calmness is a calamity ready to rise its terrifying head and wipe out the persons causing strife. When he's calmest is normally the times to worry as it means a storm is brewing and he is simply plotting the best course of action. Some of the simplest things are the ones that get on his nerves the easiest. Lack of manners, a slip of the tongue or even a simple misunderstanding can end badly as he's rash and will act on anger unless held back. When his sister or brother are around, he tends to control himself a lot better than when not. As he will dive into a situation and make the first decision that comes to mind, while upset. This involves fighting or even civil disobedience. He's easy to be injured by people insulting his family, but an insult to him is only half as effective. If enough is said, he will snap and respond harshly, but otherwise he laughs it off.

Izanagi is a man who is not so forgiving as he lets on. To the eyes of those he holds close, he is brutal and very prone to hold things against people. At times it seems he will stop at no lengths for redemption and prays not so much ill-will as he prays they get wronged in the same way. He's a man of equal exchange. A man who feels as if every wrong is deserved in return and though often times he will not strive and take this step on his own, he does almost mock his antagonizers when they fall to the same traps. Irony is delicious for him, but only when it doesn't happen to him. Though he is not a spoiled sport and can accept defeat during usual circumstances. If a person has clearly out-witted him when he was trying his best, Izanagi will submit to the stringer foe. Of course this also depends on the time and situation. He knows there are day s he should not falter and there are morals he has to follow.

If he's upset enough and knows he must control himself (for example at a meeting) he will swallow it, but an instinctive twitch happens normally at his lip or eye. It is a small reaction, usually unnoticed, but those who know him, realize it means he's getting incredibly irritated and should take it as a signal to back off.

HISTORY:

~~~~Birth of a man~~~~~~
In a time long ago, a baby boy was born like all the others. Upon his birth, he was blessed with the name Izanagi. A name that was supposed to wish good upon him, bringing him to a world with the name of someone of legend. Perhaps he would raise to something great. High hopes from his birth into a family of constant high hoped. He was the little brother and yet, they were treated equally. An age difference if two years meant nothing and from the day he was born, he was taught to be independent. His mother wished to coddle him, but the father refused, believing that it would make the boy weak, just like his older brother. The man claimed that the older brother had been babied enough for them both, and there was no chance he was going to risk the same thing with Izanagi. The boy would be great and make something of himself. Despite the pleas from the mother that Izaya was only four, the father took the baby from his mother and declared that he would raise him on his own if it was necessary. A child, barely two years old was taken from his mother and the father vanished for a while. To unknown parts where he didn't speak to his wife.
It was a miracle that the woman remained married to the general. He always did things she viewed as terrible and yet, when it came to anything else, he was sweet to her, at least so she said. It was four years, before his wife would see Izanagi again. Even though her husband had come to visit her, the boy was left with his uncle at the dojo. Izanagi didn't know he even had a mother, anymore. All he knew were the rules and laws taught to him by his uncle and father. His brother even, was a lost cause to him. No one else existed, besides the sparring partners that were brought to train with. Izanagi was a boy ruled by chores and training. There was no socializing, no school, nothing but what his uncle and father taught him. Izanagi was taught at a young age life was tough. When he didn't get his training done or if he didn't do a chore, he didn't eat. The slightest wrong move earned a hit to the back of the head. It was constant pain triggered by training. Things were easier then, though. There was at least a time or two, his father would hug him and normally Izanagi was allowed to stay in the same bed as his father. However, everything was made to change as all would soon know.
The day came upon Izanagi's sixth birthday that he was allowed to visit his family with his father. An excitement he could barely maintain as he followed closely behind. The young boy was almost running when they came to the house and for the first time in so long, he'd seen his mother. The woman was overjoyed to see her baby and brought him into a warm embrace, hugging him tightly and apologizing to him for some reasons that Izanagi couldn't understand. Izaya, now eight had as well, nearly tackled his younger brother, ecstatic to see him alive and well. A family reunion that was warm and happy. They ate together for the first time since Izanagi had been a toddler.
During dinner though, the mother couldn't help but bring up the fact Izanagi didn't seem right. Though he was six, he was acting with manners he shouldn't have yet. Though a sort of pleasant surprise, she didn't say anything more and simply watched Izanagi eat as if he were a young man, compared to Izaya who was digging in as any other child his age. Her heart told her something wasn't exactly right, but she wouldn't question her husband, determined to just enjoy a meal they hadn't had in a long time. Once it was done, Izanagi was allowed to go to his and Izaya's room to get ready for bed. Izanagi was confused, having not slept away from his father and asked about it. Clearly displeased with it, the man mumbled something about Izanagi needing to grow up, that he was a big boy he could sleep by himself, and shooed him to bed. Izaya grabbed his hand and led him off to the bedroom, talking on and on about stuff that Izanagi didn't understand. Friends and school? What were those things? As his brother stripped and changed to pajamas, Izanagi simply pulled off his shirt and laid down on the floor. Hours passed into the night and he was simply daydreaming of the fascinating things his brother had taught him. This was his family.. so why couldn't he understand them yet?
Unfortunately, the reunion was short lived and the next day, his father came in the room. He demanded Izanagi to get up and come with him. Though he had a mournful glance to Izaya, Izanagi rose to his feet and followed his father in tears. The man had noticed but only spoke the words "Grow up" to him. Nothing more than a glare and a heavy step forward.
The next year was terrible for Izanagi. His father paid less attention to even the slightest want of affection and focused solely on training. When it came to be bed time, Izanagi was left to sleep on the dojo floor, by himself while his father had a room across from his uncle's. Training was horrible. The slightest slip up left him nearly beat and his father would scold him harshly, calling him pathetic. "Get up." He'd say. "Get up and go again." His voice boomed. "If you can't get up after beat, you will be wiped away like the piece of shit you are. You aren't good enough to be my son." He could recall his father saying. Izanagi hated his father. Despised the man and yet, his father loved it. "Hate me more. At least you have a goal in life! Beat me, prove me wrong!" The fire had been pushed on the face of a young boy. He dedicated himself to it. He would defeat his father, he was determined to prove he was good enough. Good enough to be the son of this man.
Often more than not, Izanagi trained himself sturdily. He stayed up to be beat by both uncle and father, then went to 'bed' when told to. Only after his father fell asleep, he would continue to train until he passed out, determined to show his grit. To show who he was and how he could raise to those expectations. His uncle, was his main help. Constantly the man sought attention, and the only type he got was the challenging type that involved him being beaten senseless. "You're weak." The young boy was told. "Get stronger, get better." Even his uncle had turned into a man without much to say to him.
It was the same thing he heard over and over. Face to the floor, before being told to get up and try again. Each time, he wondered if he was doing it right and yet, the same method. The shinai would pres to the back of his head and his uncle looked down with scorn. "See if you can do something with this boy." A conversation he'd overheard. "I'm at my Witt's end and he's not progressed in the slightest." He could hear his uncle muttered words in agreement. And like that, his father went off home for a while. It was Izanagi and his uncle within the dojo. His uncle was more rough. As Izanagi failed, a hit to the back of his head would sting heavily. He could remember the constant mention of code and discipline. Izanagi did chores daily, simple stuff for the time. A rough world embracing the small boy with welcome arms. Little did he know of his own growing strength, the way he was getting better and slightly faster by the month. When his back was turned, smiles were given along with pride.
~~Birth of Izanami~~
It seemed forever, the time that he spent with his uncle. Izanagi was continuing his practices as much as he could. Chores and training mingled with meditation and some minor studies. As his uncle told him, mind has to be one with body. Day by day, he lived for the next in hopes of getting better, or even being the best. High bars to reach, but it gave his life meaning and though he wouldn't be able to tell, he was getting better than some people could ever hope to be. Unbeknownst to him, his older brother being one of them. Not that Izanagi knew what that feeling was, he hadn't been able to interact with others. The only people he'd socialized with, were his uncle and father. It was odd how the three of them had become more like well-oiled cogs in a machine. They rotated against each other and yet worked so well together. They sharpened each other, working harder on themselves. Through true grit and discipline, perhaps they could ascend, or so his father used to talk about.
At last, a call upon his uncle and the Izanagi was taken once more to what was SUPPOSED to be his home. A place Izanagi was supposed to live and yet, all he had was the dojo. Seeing the building again, was rather an odd experience and he was unsure how to respond. At first he stood there, gazing at the magnificent building and then, he looked down to see his brother. The family was once again united, but this time for a reason. Izanagi noticed his mother was fat, which confused him greatly as she'd never before been a glutton. The woman was a lot more profound than that. So in response he cocked his head, until his mother ushered her over. Hesitant at first, he made his way and looked rather questionably at his father. The man beamed and pointed to the boy's mother. His mother's touch was very.. odd to him. The way her soft and smooth hands ran through his hair while she hugged his small body up against her belly. At that moment, Izanagi felt a small push on himself. The child was lost. His eyes finding their ways up to the smiling woman. "You're going to be a big brother, Izanagi." She spoke kindly, whispering while her fingers twirled his tresses as if they were weightless.
The silver-gray eyes of his lit up and he pressed his fingers to the curve. A smile on his face. It would be odd, someone younger than him and a bond that he had just so quickly. Izaya joined in, both boys hugging their mother's baby bump. An odd connection between the siblings. Even in the home life was Izanagi treated a bit different. With father home, the boys, both of them, were pushed into training rigid and rough. Days passed by and the boys were constantly pit against each other. Izanagi's obvious training overtaking the training if any that Izaya had. In spars, Izanagi always one, leaving his older brother in a place that left him feeling utterly useless and worthless. As the final weeks passed, their mother became distant, not hat it effected Izanagi any. He was separated, away from the family he had known. A different level of majority. A gentleman, at a young age.
The birth of his little sister, was something he remembered. It was not because he was in the room when it happened, but simply by the overwhelming joy that hit him. As his father led him in the room, he could hear the deep voice speak. "Izanagi, this is Izanami. You will have to protect her. She's weak and fragile, people may try and hurt her." His father had tears in his eyes, something untold spoken. "Don't let her out of your sight. If anything happens, be there for her." An emotion suffocated in old eyes was reflected. Izanagi could tell. The young boy nodded as he proceeded to look down at the little girl's face. So warm and asleep now, such a beauty, so adorable. He wasn't sure what had hurt his father so deeply, but he took the words to heart.
As Izanami grew, Izanagi kept himself at her side and helped her along the way. Though, at times he would seem distant, he never ceased to pay attention to girl. Through her steps and even her words, he was nearby, keeping her safe and helping her up. He was constantly worried about her and as she even had questions, he would ask. Their parents ever so distant as always, it was as if the three of them were all they ever needed. Izanagi did his best with everything he had. ON the weekends, he spent time in the dojo, ending up face down. He stroke to get better, to protect his family. Uphold bushido, uphold the law, follow what was right. Rules and laws were burnt into his head as passionately as most children learned on history and language structure. Even that, he was taught. His uncle took up attempting to teach the boy Cretan as well. A task difficult, considering his uncle was poor as well, with the language. Blind leading the blind, was the literal situation invoked. As his uncle knew only enough to make himself 'understood', however misunderstandings would be likely.
Years passed and went flowing through and behind. A man was in the place of what had been Izanagi. He may have only been fourteen, but he had a mind of a man who was much older. The eyes of silver reflected a wisdom rivaled by men twice his age. Softness was replaced by a stern man who had no childhood left. His parents, drifted further away, focusing upon new endeavors of what was now Izanami, yet they were rarely around it seemed. From the day she was born, Izanagi helped teach her, not the 'female's place' in a household, but what he knew of the world. Things that he'd been taught by father, the few things he may have known. She was dear to him, someone he loved more than their own mother. In fact, Izanagi despised his parents and the hell they put the whole family through. Yet, he was too afraid of change to fix the problem. A sad story that left him watching thrust wants and lives upon the two. He pitied Izaya the most, whom their father completely ignored. At times Izaya would be left out of family invites and it ached Izanagi so, yet the boy was forced. "He doedn't know how to boy. Izaya? he's useless. Completely useless." Izanagi could hear through the paper-thin walls and yet, he did nothing to stop it. What kind of man was the boy? That he couldn't confront his own father and even left Izaya behind on the endeavors.
The growing rift between them spread further. A divide that blood couldn't cross. His brother hated him for it and yet, Izanagi couldn't help but accept that fact. Years would deepen further and the foothold Izanagi had on their make-shift family slipped. Father and uncle had been killed in a Xingese conflict. Izaya proceeded with his own practices while Izanagi had to find a career to pay for the family. Constant training, weeks and weeks of never-ending sweat that blurred together. He had joined the military and even less time conspired with him. Yet, even with so little time, he was the provider, he was the man of the house. He rose his own siblings and it was like nothing to him. When he slept and when he was awake was simply a mass of time. a dreaded conflict conspired and Izanagi was taken by surprise. He hadn't expected the fight in the slightest. No sooner had he walked in the door that a weapon was drawn upon him.
"You see how they treat her? Why don't you DO something?" Izaya screamed at his brother. A wooden blade in hand and raised. The two stared at one another for a fleeting moment, before both blades were rose and struck upon one another.
"What are you talking about?" Izanagi had stammered, staving off his brother's attacks. "You'd draw a weapon upon your own flesh and blood?"
"If it means freeing him by beating sense into his head, maybe then, yes!" His voice trembled, while Izaya stared cold daggers at his younger brother. "She's so unhappy and yet- you do nothing about it! You're so useless!"
Useless... He could feel the pain in the air as Izaya scoffed and the battle ended. Yet, the world rolled in his head. All this time.. Izanagi had pitied his brother and yet- His brother was the one pitying him..
~~~~~~Rising warrior~~~~~~

Time flew, within a blink and Izanami was old enough to be suited off, to which no one but mom was happy about. Izanagi couldn't agree to losing his sister and nor could Izaya. However the tensions rose and as Izanagi had no idea how to address their mother, Izaya got fed up and left. Izanami was all he had left. His sister, whom was nearly like a daughter to the man in his mid twenties. Things were just.. too much for him. It was something Izanagi REFUSED to be involved in. Though as he wanted to say something, Izanami addressed her situation on her own. Impressed, he applauded her and though he missed her long hair, he reminded her that her beauty was in her eyes. Her soul was the most beautiful and though it was corny, it was what he believed in.

News rolled around and Izanagi was most displeased with the way the land was run. Yuuko had to go, though he worked for her anyways. He started a resistance and sought to rebel the system in semi-obvious conspiracies. The first person to tell of this idea? His beloved sister. She full-heartedly supported his endeavor. The troops he held sat in waiting, ready to overthrow the woman from her throne. As an oncoming war was there, he braced himself for the best, blade in hand and people to protect.
