→ Reila is the kind of girl that turns heads when she walks down the street. Even females admire her unique style and radiating beauty. This also causes many problems for her when she is hit on by men and made fun of by women. She doesn’t flaunt her looks; she just is, but many people consider that grounds for abuse.

Reila has super long strawberry blond hair that reaches her ankles and may occasionally brush along the floor (like when she goes up stairs). Or so she used to. After she lost her memories of Dai, she felt strange pullings toward the color red. Now, Reila used to bleach her roots every weekend, but she stopped. Soon, all the blond grew out and she cut off the rest, leaving her with long, bright red hair leading down to the end of her back. Recently, Reila has returned to bleaching her hair with the return of Dai. Feeling almost like siblings with naturally red hair, Reila has bleached her hair only slightly, achieving a light pink color. She does up her hair in all kinds of ways: one day she may have it in pigtails, and the next she may have it down, braided, in a bun, or in a ponytail. She likes curling it if she is going somewhere she considers important. She had never cut her hair more than an inch her whole life and she takes care of it to the utmost extreme. Her hair is one of her most precious processions and so she buys the most expensive shampoo, conditioner, and products for it. The reason for this is because her long hair is the only thing she has left of her Aerugese royalty.

Her eyes are a golden color that constantly holds emotion. One only has to look into her eyes to know exactly how she feels. Since her eyes are such an unnatural color, they attract attention by fascinated onlookers. Some people say that she has the beautiful eyes of royalty and that they are reminded of the sun when seeing them. That’s right, if they were to stare too long into her eyes, their intensity would feel like that of staring at the sun.

Her body is slender and thin, with defined hips and abs. She may be slightly taller than some girls her age, but she cannot be considered tall, and certainly not short. She has long legs that she shaves every time she showers and trimmed toenails and fingernails. She only occasionally paints them and usually a pale shade of light pink or silver. Her skin tone is a natural color that isn’t tanned or pale, but when she is outside a lot in the summer, she does get a shade tanner.

Her voice is light and girly when she is talking normally, but it can go relatively low for a female’s. People tell her that she should try singing because her voice is very unique, but she knows she wouldn’t be able to devote herself to something like that. When she does the laundry and the dishes or when she takes a shower, she hums quietly to herself, and only seldom breaks out into song.

The way that she walks varies to her mood. When she is angry, she’ll stomp around and purposely make a lot of noise, like banging things around and slamming doors. When she is sad, Reila will visibly drag her feet and keep her eyes downcast as if clouds were covering the sun. She normally walks with a bounce in her step, sure of herself, and brisk.

Reila loves plaid skirts. She usually is seen wearing one with a dress shirt of varying colors to match or in the summer, a tank top. She also loves bows and will sometimes tie one in her hair or around her neck. She enjoys wearing high socks or leggings with her skirts that usually have attached to them pom-poms, lace, or strings. Reila basically tends to wear girlie clothing when not in her military uniform in order to appear more feminine considering her manly attitude and practices with the sword. On freezing cold days, she will wear long pants that are usually all pale colors or black and she adorns her favorite long, black trench coat with a leather trim, buckles, and a pleated bottom. When training with her sword, under any weather conditions, she wears either black biker shorts and a black tank top or a gi with a hakama.




PERSONALITY:
→ She has a very harsh personality and is in no way afraid to tell you exactly how she feels when she feels it. Reila tends to see herself as somewhat domineering-- that she has the final say in most matters. Since she was heavily spoiled when she was younger, this fact is even stronger than it should be. Her personality is direct and strong, and she seems as if she has no doubts about herself as a person. Reila believes religiously in the saying "only the fittest survive." Since she was abandoned as a child, she learned how to live on her own with nothing. She believes that if she had been anyone else, she would have died long ago in the shadows of an alley way. If a person cannot survive on their own, then they never were meant to live.

Reila does not trust anyone she first meets and is constantly wary without trying to be. But that is her responsibility as the head of an entire fort. She despises people who can only see things on the surface without looking deeper. Instead of seeing just the sky, she sees the stars beyond and the distance between them. Reila hates when people only can visualize her for how she looks, instead of trying to understand her. When she is trying to explain something or tell a story, she will get angry at a person if they don’t seem to be listening or if they don't have input to what she is trying to say. It frustrates her to no end when she isn't given the time of day.

Reila is a hopeless romantic who believes that she will one day find someone who completely loves her for who she is. She doesn’t exactly believe in love at first sight, but hopes that it is real so her own fairytale could leap off the pages. But then...she met Daigoro Ito and came to a realization that love may truly exist. Although she takes out her frustrations on her redhead, they always see eye to eye. She had even come to rely on him unlike she had with any other person henceforth. In short, Dai changed her. Slowly, she began to see the good in everyone and her harsh personality became less of an iron fist and more of a welcoming hand. Briggs is now more like the trusting family she never had rather than a frigid force always looking over their shoulders.

However, following the 2011 Annual Central City Festival, Reila's memories of Dai were taken from her. Change was more than imminent. Remembering only the color red and that the memories were sweet, she went on with her life, clinging dearly to both Mura and Xan as if somehow her subconscious refused to let them go as well. Her personality didn't change in the slightest, but she sought other, more expressive changes. She grew out her natural hair color and cut her hair, stripping herself of her royal Aerugese spirit, and facing her true self. Reila was an Amestrian solider; that was it. And as her duty as well as her heart commanded her, she would protect her loved ones, and her Briggs family.

HISTORY:
→ Reila always had trouble remembering anything before Danny found her. She could barely make out the clouded memories and suffering she went through while living in trashcans. She slept in them, ate in them, and spent her time reading the soiled newspapers from weeks ago that were left in them. Life was passed in fear and constantly in the throes of death. Before that, only faintly could she recall large halls decorated in red and gold and her own small hand clutching the purple robes of velvet in front of her as she tried to catch up. She never could catch up. Reila remembered hearing arguing, vicious curse words and shattering glass every night before she was told that she no longer could live there. Reila was five years old and she only knew her name, where she lived, and the name of her father.

She was royalty; the third born child of the emperor in the monarchy government of Aerugo and was carelessly tossed away like trash. (Nathan and Saga being the first and second). Her existence was covered up and was deemed a miscarriage by her own mother. She figured they had at least fought over her, but still, she never wanted to see them again. They had chosen a son from a different mother (Nathan) over her pure royalty and it was only a matter of time before Reila no longer existed in their world. Under normal circumstances, she would have been adopted by another family, or sent to a relative, but according to the royal family, she was supposed to disappear completely, never having existed. And during those times, a child’s motionless body lying in the shadows was not very uncommon.

Still, she pushed on, determined to survive and learn about the world. She would often find herself wandering into the same rundown book store to read what she could before she was kicked out. That was the only gift her parents had given her: the ability to read. The owner of the store began to recognize her and soon understood that she had no family by the sheer fact that she was always wearing the same rags and reeked of trash. The only thing he could offer her was the chance to read his books. Among those books she was offered, were alchemy books. She was taken by this magic as if a spell had been cast on her. She would pretend she was a princess and wait for her alchemist in shining armor to come and rescue her.

One day when it was pouring and Reila was trying to stay dry under an awning, a stranger approached her. She shied away immediately and prepared to run, but he extended a hand to the orphan with a warm smile on his face. Having never encountered this before, Reila inched towards him and took that hand. His name was Danny and he brought her to a place called a hospital in a country called Amestris where he told her she would live from then on. She changed from her rags and began wearing expensive brand name clothes that she was kindly given. Overwhelmed by the sudden changes, she often fell sick and would have to remain in bed for days.

After she recovered and adjusted to the normal life-style, Reila began attending school where she learned everything like a sponge sucking up water, but instead of it leaking out, she froze it there. Her intelligence was astounding and the teachers often commented on her genius, moving her up to grades higher than her age group. She, of course, was enthralled beyond all reason. But school was short-lived and grew dull and redundant when she had mastered all the subjects.

She soon graduated and began working for Danny as a nurse and secretary. She loved answering the phones and organizing everything for him since he couldn’t keep track of it himself for the life of him. She took joy in bringing him coffee and tending to his every need like a housewife would, but she was actually referred to as his ‘sister’ so that term did not apply. She was a bit confused by her sudden gain of a family, but she continued to do her job like this for a couple years. After those years she spent tending to the hospital and Danny, she began to acquire a need of individualism. Not finding anything to occupy this desire, she saw an advertisement in a magazine she was reading instead of filing patient records. This ad described a new dojo opening in the country that taught various forms of iaido, kenjitsu, and kendo. The sensei, or master, of the dojo was an old man in his 70’s that was determined to pass on his knowledge to the next generation.

Reila was at the doorstep the next day, wearing a short skirt and looking pathetically weak. The assistant who greeted her, laughed immediately, asking her if she was joking. When the sensei heard this, he came up behind the assistant and hit him over the head with a shinai. Reila winced, faced suddenly with how hard the training would be. She couldn't wait. Reila later ended up becoming the best student in the entire dojo. After years of training every day in diligence between working at the hospital, attending to Danny, and doing the laundry/dishes around the place, the sensei voiced his desire to have her lead his dojo. But all along, he knew her well enough to think twice about his offer. When she declined, he had already known she would because he also had declined the teacher he had learned from 50 years ago.

She took this to heart, and on his deathbed promised him that she would return to the arts as he had and teach when she got older. She would under no circumstances allow the knowledge passed down to her to die with the ages. The next morning when it snowed, he had already left the world. Reila spent many months in a depression that Danny took a serious note of. She would lock herself up in her room for days just reading thick, complicated books, neglecting her work. When Danny found out, he took no interest in it. She was surprised beyond a doubt and soon grew even more bored with simply remaining a secretary. Reila decided to do something rash, but something that would help the world and bring about peace.

It was then that the long-haired girl confronted him about how she had snuck out and applied for the military. She also told him that she had perfected her own alchemic technique and had prospects to become the head of Fort Briggs.

Of course, Danny had not liked this and while introducing her to his 'friends,' she had come to learn something of extreme value: Danny was not who she thought he was. This confused her beyond belief. It was as if he had two personalities... one reserved for her, and the other for the fuhrer. She couldn't cope with this and got angry at him for the first time since she was twelve. The end result was terrible; she didn't hear from him or see him, only concluding that he had either forgotten her, or worse... had been killed. After shedding tears over her loss, she looked past her loneliness and focused on Briggs for hope.

After meeting Enrya and Tsuna and going to the festival with them, Reila had learned what true friends were like. But soon after, she lost contact with them. In her short time left before moving to the North, she chanced upon Brigadier General Spencer Mori who shared her love of Dr. Pepper. Not only that but she met Jay and the blind man called Riffel. She thoroughly enjoyed herself, learning to be more open with people and have a good time.

She left Central soon after, packing up all of her things from Danny's empty wing, and boarding the train since it was all she could afford. Once she reached Fort Briggs, adapting to the constant tundra was more pleasant than she had initially thought. Snow was wonderful! She set instantly to work, hunting through military regiments stored in the database to find subordinates worthy enough to stand beside her. Soon after, she met her choices: Dai, Xan, Jay E., and Mura--all of whom had a wide array of personalities that blended with Briggs and built a strong force.

Nothing lasts forever. Reila began to notice Xan's frequent absences and started to worry about them. In the end, she decided to ignore her paranoia and went for a walk out in a blizzard. That was when she made a snow angel for the first time! Also, she met Koko--a wolf chimera--that became her friend and was appointed as part of Briggs as well. Koko was only a minor distraction from her paranoia, aiding in the replenishment of the Fort Briggs' heating system. Once that was over though, she still worried.

Krieg came to question Reila of her loyalties to the fuhrer. She acted as expected of her and ended up sparring with the huge man. He said many displeasing things and angered her before leaving the way he came. Reila gave him one thing... Xan's name.

A rebel force was created called RIOTE for the single purpose of annihilating Amestris. An attack was staged on an armory near North City. Briggs was deployed immediately and Reila finally was able to flaunt her battle talent. RIOTE was thwarted and victory was in the air for many days afterward. Reila had given Nakamora his first mission and watched with pride as he followed Dai around and assisted him. She became suspicious that Xan was connected with RIOTE in some way.

Right before South City vanished, Reila set up a Brigg's party around a bonfire in a cave where they drank and played truth or dare. She felt everyone had grown just a little bit closer. Then the catastrophe happened and shook her world, hard. If she hadn't matured a lot since RIOTE's first attack, then she did now. After being the first to discover that it had been human transmutation that destroyed South City, Reila had a mental break down. She recovered herself when she was able to talk to Dai and realize her need to command. The philosopher's stone fell into Dai's hands and later into hers (or more accurately her bra) after the leader of RIOTE, Zaska, attacked her, injured her, and was stabbed by her, his body then disintegrated by Dai's magnetism brought about by the random acts of the stone. Zaska's blood sprayed all over Reila, further traumatizing her with her fear of blood. Reila finally saw Xan for what he was (the new leader of RIOTE), and faced the truth, almost killing him while lecturing a hooded man who seemed he was in cahoots with.

She and her Briggs troops left South City to return to their duties, reporting nothing but the demise of RIOTE and Xan's escape. The philosopher's stone was kept a secret. Her relationship with Dai escalated to such a degree that she has allowed herself to trust him completely. It was something she hadn't let herself even consider since what happened with Danny and further back...her parents who left her for dead. Reila has high hopes for both Houka and Ilona in their new positions at Briggs, but especially she has hope in Dai...

Dai and Reila took a trip to the high Briggs mountain range, hiding the philsopher's stone where no one could find it. Reila herself hardly knows where it is. Only Dai can really find where it now lurks away from everyone. Reila was surprised and terrified of the fact that the fuhrer or anyone else for that matter contacted her about the stone. It seems South City really was a mystery...to everyone but them. She enjoyed the beautiful scenery and held a man's hand for the first time...

Reila and Houka's relationship escalated when she payed the redhead a visit. It was a few weeks after the South City incident and she was looking for a spar to strengthen her shoulder and stay in shape. Instead, they developed new alchemy for the captain and tested it out. The results were astounding and both were impressed by the other's skills. Reila's shoulder took a turn for the worse and so the two of them--like sisters--opted for playing Mario Cart. Though Reila would have won in the spar, she was destroyed in the Nintendo 64 game. Houka then became known as Yoshi. Though Reila is by nature a very skeptical person, she opened her heart to the Blizzard alchemist, blindly hoping her trust wouldn't be betrayed.

Something came to Reila's attention from gossiping with Houka. She discovered that Ilona had been acting different. Even staying in the same room, Reila strangely hadn't picked up on it. Later, the two of them discovered that she was pregnant, but didn't know what to do with the child. Reila and Houka declared that Fort Briggs was probably the safest place in all of Amestris and that they would support her regardless of her decision. Ilona was then given her conviction and made her choice. She decided to have the baby.

In celebration for the achievement of finishing all South City's paperwork, Reila treated herself to a bottle of vodka. Then she went to a bar and met Mura there. They had drunken arguments in different languages and competed in a drinking contest to see who passed out first. Reila woke up the next morning with no recollection of what occurred. Through her hangover, Briggs was attacked on two sides by Drakkar rebels and Drachman troops. Surrounded, Houka and Reila combined their alchemy to rain pelts of ice upon the enemy. After nearly destroying both armies this way, Mura betrayed Briggs and set bombs to go off. In a frenzy, Reila used her last resort: she completely flooded Briggs and coated the entire thing in thick ice.

Briggs was saved, but Xanthus Icarus showed himself once more, but this time, he brought news. Reila, being forgiving and courteous invited him to dinner. It was there she learned that Father was the Fuhrer. In an outrage, she declared that they would bring his reign to an end.


But during that same dinner, Reila received a phone call informing her that Aerugo was invading South City. She thought this a perfect opportunity to bring down the Fuhrer's rule and took her time to plan it out so as to insure that all of Central's forces would be sent to South City, leaving Central vulnerable. Still, it wasn't going to be easy. Together with Murazar Dauthi, Menoitos, Xanthus Icarus, Daigoro Ito, and various equipped forces, they went by helicopter to Central Head Quarters. On the way, Reila overheard, due to the bugs she planted in the helicopters, that Mura (her freelance assassin) was going to leave Fort Briggs and join forces with Xanthus (Famine). Even with this knowledge, Reila kept her mouth shut and did not protest. Soon, they reached their destination.

Following Menoitos (the second homunculus, Wrath) they were able to reach the Fuhrer in Father's Lair without a problem. But once Reila and her crew entered the throne room, Endavi Diederich (the homunculus, Wrath) was already there fighting with Menoitos. Through the dim lighting on the other side of the room, Father stood before the Briggs Brigade. They faced off, joining their alchemy and bullets together to wear down Father. Reila's ribs were destroyed by a large rock hand and she fell, getting back up only to be saved by Xan in the fray. Xan buried Father in a large hole of rock, giving him a taste of his own medicine. It looked as if it were finally over...

But Father rose up again! Dai and the Philosopher's Stone he held were being drawn in by the floundering homunculus who just wouldn't die! Dai used his magnetism alchemy to blow up his arm, sending both of them flying in opposite directions. Reila in a frenzy of shock, barely made it to Father, killing him with a huge tornado of icicles she conjured. Once it was over, Reila ran to Dai, yelling at him for being so reckless. Dai confessed his love to her and she returned it by whispering "ditto" in his ear. It was the start of something amazing in which Reila had never before experienced with another person...not even Danny.

After Reila was sure Father was gone, she gathered up the Briggs Brigade and flew back to the North. She learned later from Xan of the existence of the new Fuhrer Hild and Aurelius who had declared the proclamation of a world war to create everlasting, true peace. She did not like it... In fact, Reila outright opposed the idea of creating more death just for the sake of a perfect world. To her, such a thing never existed, and never would. She saw people die...she saw the light leave their eyes as she held them, leaking blood to the sullen ground. This was life...it wasn't meant to be peaceful. All they could do was reduce the death count. And that was exactly what Briggs was going to do whether they had to fight Amestris or anyone else to accomplish it.

On another Battlefront in South City, Spade Aeries (the head of Central) faced off with his forces against the Aerugo invasion. More than one by one they fell to Veil Awaikage's forces led by Shura Okiza (the steel blade samurai). In no time, the Amestris forces had to retreat or be utterly destroyed. Right at that time, the Briggs Brigade swooped in from the North to aid in the retreat. But as they were evacuating, the vicious, unforgiving Aerugese chased them all the way to the West border. There, they sought shelter with Tataki Masu and staked out for two weeks before returning to their respected posts. The dead...were unable to be retrieved.

Reila flew back to Briggs via Helicopter only to discover that Ilona (her second in command at Briggs) died in child birth. Heart broken, she cried for hours in her empty room until she was able to face the world again. Injured still from Father and further from the war in the South, she went to find Dai who had stayed behind at Briggs. She informed him of all that went on in their loss in South City and eventually fell into a fitful asleep.

Reila has been through many missions, planning, and recruit work. She has fought for Amestris until losing consciousness--only to wake up and move forward once more. Many things have affected her along the way, changing her, and making her stronger. She started off as a nineteen-year-old girl who couldn't trust the world and became a twenty-year-old woman who is obeyed and respected. Her subordinates, though they don't always get along, work together until the end, following her lead and listening to her words. Reila has become more confident in herself, which has made her an extremely capable leader. Even so, she has not lost her humanity or renounced her feelings about anything; she still stands strong and faces her obstacles. Reila has begun to bloom into a praise-worthy member of Amestris' higher-ups. People admire her for her alchemic ability and battle capabilities, making her a renown figure in the world today.

Reila has a true gift for leading people. She plans to hone Houka's skills in order to raise the girl up to be the Head of the North. That way the two of them can work together and run the whole North side of Amestris. She leads with a strong, cold air and now is more confident in all she does. She doesn't let herself bend like she did at South City; now, she looks past it all and acts as quickly and efficiently as she can. And Reila hasn't been doing nothing in between; she has planned out many situations and strengthened Fort Briggs' defense considerably. She has many battle tactics set aside and stapled into the minds of each of her fearless men. The fittest survive... hah! She could laugh now at the statement because everywhere she looks in Briggs is a fit and able soldier. Reila used to hesitate before killing someone, but now if they are standing in her snow aiming a gun, they will stain it red.

Reila led an extremely skilled Briggs Brigade task force into the lair of Father. Together, with her men she overthrew the fuhrer to bring about a new age. This act alone has earned her recognition. Not only that, but after the defeat of Father, she did not abandon her men, nor did she abandon her country. She dropped her forces off at the North and then, without a break, flung herself against the Aerugese. Finding Central's forces almost completely destroyed, she was able to erect a giant wall of ice to ward off the army long enough for even the wounded to escape. Though it was nearly impossible to retrieve the dead, she led those still alive to the safety of the West under Tataki Masu. She also saw to it that everyone was properly treated in the West City hospital before even beginning to think of herself.
