All so fascinating (open)

Axel was never the type to get off his couch to do much, usually it was just causing trouble here and there and scaring children with his appearance (though unintentional) but for some reason lately he had been feeling some pull to go off into the desert. What's more, he wanted to check out the Xerxes Ruins. He was always one to be fascinated by bits of history, and he was always ready to learn new things. And right now he was.

On all fours the hyena chimera made his way over a sandy slope as he headed to the ruins. His shirt was a zip-up hooded sweatshirt, light gray in color without sleeves. And his usual dark gray shorts and lack of shoes. It was hard finding shoes made to hit his awkward hyena-like legs. Even harder to walk in them. So he never bothered. He didn't even feel the need to cover his inhuman parts. His hood was up, though. Covering his slightly rounded hyena ears. And his somewhat flat tongue was slightly sticking out in the corner as he matched his footing, careful not to fall. His tail swished as he slid down the slope of his own will and made his way onwards. One would think it was odd for even a chimera of his magnitude to be walking on all fours. Some would think it would look awkward but for some reason it looked more natural and not the least bit awkward. His spine even sloped downward slightly as a hyena's does, as his arms were a tad bit longer than the average human's.

Ronnie hated the desert but she was there nonetheless. She didn't enjoy learning, she didn't enjoy 'history', she enjoyed cities and obstacles she could vault over and generally be her hyper-active self. But she was here for a reason. She had recently been with two companions but was hopelessly lost. How did she get lost? She wasn't sure. A bunch of sand was kicked up and she ended up making her way towards an area that didn't look like desert anymore. Though, she figured Salane wouldn't take long to find her. She knew the girl couldn't see but she had seen her do things with sand. And if it was any consolation, this Philly native girl was covered in sand. Her hands were in her pockets and she was walking rather quickly through sand with a deep scowl. She hated this. She hated being alone. She hated having nothing to do. She hated not having something to vent at.

Ronnie was never the most coordinated girl, generally speaking. And as she made he way through the sand she felt the sand catch one of her feet and with a quick flair she face-planted in the sand. Groaning, she tried to pull herself up but her arms sank. A normal persona would have just make their way out in no time. But Ronnie? She began flailing madly in some blind rage, cursing at the top of her lungs as she tried to get up. And eventually she did. But it took quite a bit of anger and flailing to do so. Standing once again she tried taking deep breaths but, alas, it did nothing to aide her in her dilemma. So she did the best thing Ronnie knew how to do. She pulled out a gun and, looked down and closed her eyes and shot a random bullet into the sky. Maybe that will help them find her. Though, that wasn't in her mind at the moment. What WAS on her mind was how incredibly hungry she was.

Rolego was walking in the heated sands with Salane now riding on is back. Her shoes were in shreds and she needed a way to move without hurting her own personal being, and so he was there to be her personal horse for the day. but also they were going to look for Ronnie, for some reason she had gotten lost while they were on their journeys. But also they needed to find her cause the heat of the summer was still there and it was still as hot as before, maybe even gotten than that. So they both were deeply worried.

Rolego especially, he had gotten to know Ron rather well and it was kind of odd for him to be able to trust and also like her so much after a few days. But, now he and also Salane had a problem. The sands were not reaching Ronnie, yes they were reaching far and picked up some signs, but they have not found any luck at all...and it worried him alot about her. He never really thought he would lose her so quickly and out here it could kill. So he used his nose to his fullest ability...till he found a small sent in the sands..and it was just enough to make him hone in on her a little. Since Salane was making that sands move so much..it did not make it any easier...but he could follow if he could. So he began to quicken his pace...he did not know how far...but he had to get to her as quickly as possible.

Salane was now laying on top of Rolego and was feeling the heat simply ram her again and again, but she felt rather cooler than before. She had Drake here to help her and also his fur for some reason was cool as water....and it made her want to hold on the entire time she was with him. But there was something that was eating at her the entire time she was on him and it made her heart just sink every moment she was. She missed Ronnie....

Ronnie was no where in sight when they started to move together, but she was not expecting to see her vanish all of a sudden. But what made it even worse was the Salane was unable to draw a bead on her and it made her feel very worried and very useless. She did not want Ronnie getting into trouble again. being out here alone could kill and getting lost out here would kill...and Ronnie of all people should know that besides Salane herself. But she had to move forward and try harder. She did not want Ronnie getting hurt out here and even worse more lost than she already was. But then she felt Drake all of a sudden move quicker. She felt her body just bounce as he began to trot and it both made her more happy and also more excited. She began to feel more and more of her presence.

Though still very small, she had the sign and that was all to make her grapple onto Drake as he began to pick up his pace to move quicker. She did not know why but she felt that he probably scented her or something in order to make him move this way. Though she could not see they were blazing through the sands. The sign getting larger and larger in time. Even though it was still small...she knew for a fact that it was her...something made her think this way. It was hard to say and to point out but it made her think that Ronnie was there. She had too...or they might not have another chance...

Ronnie was tired or walking and fighting with the sand. She just wished all the sand gone. Then she started to wonder, was there solid ground under the sand or was it just endless sand? Wait... Wasn't there layers to the earth and stuff? Would she ended up on the other side of the world in another desert? She looked up, tapping her gun on her chin as she thought. The pistol wasn't loaded anymore so she had no fear of misfiring into her face. Then again, she never did. She assumed she would never misfire a gun. When was the last time she did that, anyways? She knew she used to all of the time, but something stopped that... Whatever it was she had no memory of. Which was normal as she generally has little to no memory. But usually remembered important things and she figured it must have been important... She shrugged and flopped backwards into the sand.

She lay there, staring at the sky... Damn, it was hot. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment. That was when she heard the movement somewhere above her head. She tiled her head back and opened her eyes and that was when she saw Drake very far away still. With Salane on his back. She smiled widely as she jumped up and waved her arms at them with an excited look. Finally, somebody else! Somebody to talk to. Not even talk to, but just somebody to INTERACT with. That was all she wanted really.

Axel had to stop and take a breather and he stopped and shook his upper body like a wet dog and his hood fell off. He reached around to grab his canteen and unscrewed the lip and took a drink of the water inside. While he was there he sat down with his legs crossed and took in the sights and warmth. He loved heat, he figured it must have been a hyena thing or something. His ears twitched as he heard a gun and he winced. He always did when he heard bullets being fired, mostly because it reminded him of when he was shot but the good ol' Ronnie. He looked up at the sky and yawned. Wonder how she was he thought, laying back in the sand. Relaxing as he held the canteen to his chest.

His tail swished slightly as he relaxed, missing the feeling of his couch. but sand wasn't all that uncomfortable either. He closed his blue eyes and smiled calmly as he listened around with his heightened sense of hearing. Sniffing the air with his heightened sense of smelling... He knew there were people out here. And he was perfectly ready for any confrontation. He hoped he didn't have to encounter the one who shot the gun, though. No matter the reason for their shooting, he hated guns. Not only because of his spinal injury, but the smell of gunpowder and the sound that hurt his ears were both severely unpleasant to the hyena.

Rolego paced through the sands as quickly as he could and hoped that the high heaves would allow them to find Ronnie soon, cause the looking and the heat was getting to him rather quickly as he ran in the sands. But he also knew he could not stop cause if he did he did not know if the seconds did count. So he kept up the pace and it made him worry the more the scent grew more and more powerful. He did in fact notice that the scent had stopped moving and it made him worry even more. His pessimistic mind not helping him at all. But as soon as he finished thinking of this he noticed that there was a being standing...and like a ton of bricks he gave a small look of shock.

There stood Ronnie, waving her arms in the air. Which made him drop whatever worry he did have. He then kept trucking to her with Salane gripping onto his back rather hard, bit he did not care or know. He was trying to get to her and to see if she was truly alright. his canine instincts on full overdrive. Like a pet to its owner after a long time. So after some time and a lot of running he leaped to Ronnie as happy as can be..smiling like he was before when he first met her and began to grow less fearful of her. He was just happy to see her again...which was odd for him. He had only known her for a few moments...and also she did shoot a gun in his direction once..

Salane clung to Drake as he ran so she would not fall as he was running in the hot sands. Which were actually now growing hotter as the sun reached its peek. The sun was really beating down on her now, but the coolness from Drake's mane was keeping her more than just sane it made her feel like she was sitting in a nice cool area. But the running she was having to go through was not helping her at all, she could not see but she could defiantly now feel something was in front of them now. She just could not tell what it was cause she was being shaken so much. But soon the figure of the object did make itself rather known to her, and her face gave a rather great smile.

She could tell it was Ronnie now. The smell as they neared was a dead giveaway, as well as the sands as it began to take on the small faint smell of gunpowder and some smell of smoke. Which made her sneeze and made her almost fall off as Rolego began to pick up the pace to catch up to Ron. So she leaned over and held on as he began to sprint and then all of a sudden noticed that she was not on the ground anymore. So she let go at the last moment and tried to land lightly on her feet...as well as placing her torn sandals back onto her feet before they touched the earth. Which dd not work so well. She got one on but the other touched the heated sands and she quickly feel to her butt so that her foot would not be burned.

But she did feel Ronnie was nearby and it made her body cool a little...feeling the worry lift from her gut and fro her spine. She then cautiously stood and gave a small smile to Ron...or...who she hoped it was Ron...and felt around till she felt Drake's mane...in which she clung to.
